Rimmel Xtreme Volume Mascara

I'm still on a mission to find the perfect mascara - have been for years. This is the latest on a long list I have bought, hoping and praying that at last I'd found the holy grail i.e a mascara that goes on easily,doesn't clump, doesn't flake, looks good and is easy to take off at the end of the day. I bought this particular mascara whilst browsing around Superdrug. It was on sale at the introductory price of £4.49. The usual price was to be £6.99. I used to wear just cheap priced mascara at about £2 to £3 then i heard about the comb applicater of this mascara and was very curious as to how it worked. Like i say i wouldn't normally spend alot and this is priced around £7. The first thing i noticed when using the mascara is that i couldn't open it twisting dosnt work you have to pull and a hard pull too. Every time i open it i nearly snap the stick because it comes open with some force. Once open there is the long stick with the comp applicater at the end which is about 3cm long. This mascara was for £5. I bought a mascara from the brand rimmel because i've never heard any complaints of it and also because it is a good and reliable brand. I would say that this mascara needs slightly more care when applying than the traditional type mascaras. For me, this was partly because I wasn't used to the applicator and partly because it is easier to make a mess of it. Due to the design of the comb, there isn't so much chance of mascara being clogged up on the applicator, the way it does with a brush, but it does mean you have to load the applicator more often. I was first introduced to Rimmel's Xtreme Volume Mascara by my mum one day after my beloved avon mascara (reviewed previously) ran out. The first problem I encoutered was how to open the tube...I kept twitsing and twisting with no avail until i realised u simply pull the lid and it pops open...et voila! A very simple solution to a common problem. We all know how difficult it is to open mascara with foundation and lotions on our hands and the lid of the Rimmel mascara tube is designed so that it can be easily pulled open with little effort but is secure enough when closed not to leak all over ... more

I decided to purchase this mascara, as like most other women, I always want the best, the cheapest and the easiest to apply, but overall one that will make my lases look long, luxious and sexy. I have used Rimmel before and had never been disappointed with their products, but this mascara has been the first to do so. Yes I know it is a comb applicater instead of a wand and it would take some time to get used to, but that is putting it mildly.
