Rimmel Gentle Eye Make Up Remover

As some of you regulars may have noticed from my past reviews, I do like my make-up products. I’d say it’s easier to take off face make up than removing eye make up due to mascara or eye liner getting stuck in the corners of your eyes and it’s a real pain to get off. I dread coming back from a night out and knowing that instead of crawling into my comfy bed, I have to remove the dreaded make up! I needed to find a good quality eye make up remover as past removers, whether it being a make up pad or lotion just hasn’t removed the entire make up and I still wake up in the morning looking like a panda. So a few months ago I received a Rimmel London make up set, which included the eye make up remover that I am reviewing.

GENTLE EYE MAKE UP REMOVER it says on the front of the 125 ml transparent bottle. Which also states on the front that it removes waterproof mascara, hmmm must be good. On the back of the bottle it claims that it:

• Gently removes all eye make up, including long lasting and water proof make up, with no oily residue.
• Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.
• Dermatologically and ophthalmologically tested (didn’t have a clue what ophthalmologically meant, so just researched it and it just means it has been tested on eyes! In case you didn’t know)

INGREDIENTS
Water (AQUA), Poloxamer 184, sodium PCA, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Tetrasodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, Panthenol.
After all this ingredients, the cleanser looks just like water with lots of bubbles in it! But it has been shook around in my make up bag a lot so that might be the reason for all the bubbles.

To use:
Apply cleanser to cotton wool/balls, gently sweep over eyes till all traces of make up are removed.

MY OPINION
I personally don’t think the cleanser is that good. I very rarely buy water proof mascara these days because I am yet to find an actual eye make up remover that does what it says. Even when I use normal mascara or eye liner, I found that the remover didn’t get rid of the entire make up. And I was back to looking like a panda in the mornings again, mascara or eye liner had settled underneath my eye lid in a dried crumbling type of way. It’s not that I didn’t remove my make up properly, I mean how hard can it be to remove make up! It just simply doesn’t work as well as it claims. I think that a hot flannel over your eyes does just the same job. One thing that was correct however, was that as a contact lens wearer myself, the remover didn’t once irritate or hurt my eyes so yeah it is gentle on you eyes. Overall i give this 3 out of 5, and wouldn't really recommend this, im sure there are other products out there which are better!
