Advantages: give good pain relief, taste nice too Disadvantages: relief is temporary
...Whenever I get a mouth ulcer I go to my medicine cabinet where I usually try to keep a pack of these pastilles.
Pleasant tasting and they numb the point of pain very well; suck one shortly before eating helps, (it helps to try and locate the pastille close to the painful area).
They are suitable for adults and children over 12 and the dosage is one tablet every 2 hours and you get 24 pastilles in a pack. The last pack I brought cost me £2.55, they are sugarfree so hopefully kind to teeth as they contain sorbitol as the sweeter.
You can purchase them freely from all good chemists and most supermarkets stock them too, so why suffer
go out and get some now, they handy to keep in your medicene cupboard....

Advantages: Taste nice, chewable, sugar free Disadvantages: Only provide temporary relief
...I really think that no bathroom cabinet should be without a packet of Rinstead tablets. If you have ever bitten the side of your mouth, had an ulcer, had one of your teeth/fillings rub on your gums, then rather than moan and groan about the pain you should have just popped to your nearest chemist/supermarket and bought some of these. For only £2.30 for a packet of 24 there really is no excuse to suffer anymore.
They are suitable for adults and children over the age of 12 and should only be taken every two hours. They contain menthol and Cetylpyridinum Chloride so check first that you aren't allergic to anything. They are also sugarfree so won't rod your lovely pearly whites away.
Now, back to the little superheroes. They are red and taste nice, kind of like raspberry, although they do taste a bit like antiseptic. They are small...

Advantages: They taste quite pleasant. Disadvantages: They don't work as well as you'd hope.
...or bacteria, and this makes treating them difficult. There is no "cure", just treatments to try and ease the pain caused by mouth ulcers.
One such treatment is "RinsteadSugarFree Pastilles". Produced by Ernest Jackson and Co Ltd, in Devon, these pastilles are topical antiseptic drops that need to be located on, or near to the ulcer.
They contain Cetylpyridinium Chloride which can help to kill germs and micro-organisms that may cause infections. Amazingly, whilst researching this review, I came across a toxicology report for this ingredient which makes scary reading. Cetylpyridinium Chloride has the chemical formula C21H38ClN, and is often used as an ingredient in pesticides! The chemical also carries the warning, "Harmful by ingestion or inhalation. May cause severe eye irritation. Respiratory and skin irritant."
At this point, I must stress...
