Advantages Taste nice, chewable, sugar free

Disadvantages Only provide temporary relief

I really think that no bathroom cabinet should be without a packet of Rinstead tablets. If you have ever bitten the side of your mouth, had an ulcer, had one of your teeth/fillings rub on your gums, then rather than moan and groan about the pain you should have just popped to your nearest chemist/supermarket and bought some of these. For only £2.30 for a packet of 24 there really is no excuse to suffer anymore.

They are suitable for adults and children over the age of 12 and should only be taken every two hours. They contain menthol and Cetylpyridinum Chloride so check first that you aren't allergic to anything. They are also sugar free so won't rod your lovely pearly whites away.

Now, back to the little superheroes. They are red and taste nice, kind of like raspberry, although they do taste a bit like antiseptic. They are small, about 1cmm so fit nicely into all areas of your mouth without causing discomfort. They are in a blister pack and can easily be popped out, which gives them easy access to children so keep them high up.

The idea of them is to hold one in your mouth, preferably at the site of pain until it feels numb and then you can chew it to clean your whole mouth out. They are chewy but take quite a while to dissolve and they are sticky so get stuck to your back teeth which isn't very pleasant.

However the biggest problem with them is that the pain only goes away for about 30-60 minutes and you have to wait two hours before taking another tablet. What I do, though, is I take a rinstead tablet and when the pain comes back I use Bonjela until I can take another tablet. The best thing about these tablets is that they stop mouth infections because they are antiseptic.

I do recommend them because they taste nice, are sugar free, and make pain go away. However if you do buy them, don't expect any miracles.
