Having read some of the other reviews on this product I felt that I had to get a point across to other potential buyers. Many people seemed a bit miffed about the memory space on this item (32mb as standard). Well they have every right to be a bit miffed although I must defend this hardware. You...

Cons64Meg would have been nice!

My first foray into the world of portable MP3 has been with this little device, and I have to say I’m impressed. The unit itself is small and stylish - curvy, a little smaller than a cassette and about 1.5 times thicker. Powered by one AA battery, the 600 has 32Meg of onboard RAM, and is...

ConsCost of memory, lack of in-built memory.

That was what magazines had to say about the rio 600. With its sleek design and easily readable display in any light, the rio 600 is a strong contender in the ever growing market of mp3 players. When i first heard about and saw the rio 600 i couldn't wait for it to be released in the uk. The rio...

ConsOne drop resulted in total failure

If, like me, you’re only just starting to break into the dizzy world of MP3 then you’re probably finding that it’s quite a big scary place. Sure, you’ve heard of Napster and downloading songs from the net for free and even buying albums online that you can download to your...

ConsProprietary expansion

The Rio Mp3 player was the product that started the whole portable Mp3 player craze upon its original release and the Rio 600 is the latest incarnation in this unique product range. The question is, faced with fresh competition from a now inundated market, can it still come out tops? WHAT IS MP3...

ConsFar too little space for songs

There is little doubt amongst those in the know that Diamond Multimedia, who offered one of the first MP3 players on the market, make probably the best players on the market. The company has succeeded in becoming a trusted brand name in the same way that Kellogg's is to cereal and Microsoft is to...

Going back to John Lewis! Machine keeps cutting out, when the battery level is at 20% and I press the "play" button. In addition the Headphones are of a particularly poor spec. Probably a one off. John Lewis will replace it as soon as their new order comes in, great! Look out for further updates...

Had my RIO for about 2 months now, and its been pretty reliable... The unit is curvy, clean, and well-designed to fit into the palm of your hand. I held off on buying an MP3 player for two reasons, memory and price. The first generation MP3 players had 8 MB of memory and sold for over 100 quid.
