I have got both the regular and the holographic sets in this but I have only used the regular one so this is what this review is based on.

I talked my husband into getting me these as part of my bday present...Tesco had them on offer at the time for 20 quid, I think they usualy retail for 24.99 though Argos seem to always have them on offer as well for 20!

Upon opening the box I discovered everything came in a neat little box with slots for everything - 10 foils, 1 adhesive, 1 2in1 nail polish, a 'hoof' for pushing back cutiles and getting the foil rubbed on, a wee bag of rhinestones (clear), a tub of gold glitter, paint brush and the instructions book - theres also a picture leaflet with ideas on how to do your nails! It came with a DVD to show you what to do as well though I didn't use this. There are some none seethrough and some see-through designs so different colours of nailpolish underneath will add different effects!

OK so you put either nail polish on your nails for the base or else you can just use their 2in1 polish which is clear. Wait 30 minutes after nail polish/2in1 has been done and then put the adhesive on your finger nails - it advises doing one hand at a time to avoid mistakes and also incase the adhesive dries too much while your doing each finger! Once the adhesive is on the nails you wait 10 minutes- The adhesive goes on white like glue but it drys clear and remains very tacky/sticky.

I recommend cutting a section of foil off the roll as I discovered if you use the whole roll it will unravel and be very akward! So you get your piece of foil and position it over the nail, rub it with the 'hoof' that was in the kit and then peel away back slowly (make sure the foil is the right way round when putting it on). Once you pull it back viola pretty nails. Once you have done all of your nails you then coat them with another layer of 2in1 polisy to seal....dont forget to cap over the tips of your nails to stop the foil from peeling off. You can add rhinestones to the nail just before the 2in1 polish dries and then seal once again with another layer - same goes for the glitter. You dont have to cover the whole nail in foil - thats what the paintbrush is for, its super thin so you can draw lines and designs with it using the adhesive and then foil/glitter only those areas - again you can see the diff design examples in the leaflet.

The first time I tried it I had absolutely no problems with either hand, it is very simple so long as you follow the instructions, some people have complained it hasn't worked right but my guess is they are too impatient and don't wait long enough on the adhesive drying or their nail polish drying underneath which will then make the foil bumpy as the polish can move when you push on it with the hoof....so have patience girls and you will have truely beautiful nails!

Another great thing about this kit is that the foils come off quite easily with a bit of normal nail polish removal, you dont need to soak them (like you do with nail gels) - just rub them and go :)

You can buy individual foils from places like ebay for a quid or two and I am sure that they will work just fine with this kit as well, though if you run out of adhesive or 2in1 you may need to get a new kit but by this stage your foils will be well used as it looks like the adhesive/2in1 will last long after the foils are finished!

Thanks for reading - I hope you enjoyed my review !!

Review summary

for the review "Foiltastic nails every time!"
Easy peasy sexy foil nails - both hands are easy to do no matter if your right or left handed, so easy a child could do it. Plus with the added bling of the rhinestone and glitter what more could a woman want?
