RIO SCANNING LASER HAIR REMOVAL SYSTEM I had quite thick hair on my chin and face. I used every method including bleach, threading, waxing etc, but all in vain. Then some one told me about the salon laser hair removal, which was expensive. I managed to have 10 of these professional laser sessions, which managed to get rid of 80% of my facial and chin hair but I was not 100%.satisfied Due to the texture of my hair I needed more sessions. (Normal person needs about 7 to 10 sessions) Most stubborn hair was on my chin and neck. . One day as I was going through ARGOS book, found this new revolutionary idea of having laser treatment at home. It was much cheaper than salon treatment.
We went to get the machine to get the machine but had to make choice, as they stocked two different varieties of the machine. NORMAL RIO LASER SYSTEM only scans one hair at a time, which makes the laser process lengthy and tiring. RIO LASER SCANNING HAIR REMOVAL SYSTEM scans upto 20 hairs at one time. I finally got this machine as it was comparatively better and easy to use with less time of application. So finally I got it. This doesn't need any specific preparations but it is recommended that your skin should be clean, and more effective on pale skin. You should avoid using sun bath, fake tans and sun beds as it can react with laser process. After paying 199 pounds for this gadget, I was so excited to try it on my face but ,as it is recommended to have a patch test to see whether you develop any side effects ,I had to do it and wait for 24 hours to see any developing side effects. The result came positive as I had no reactions what so ever and finally I was ready to use it. To laser your hair the main preparation is to shave or trim your hair, as the laser works best with no hair on the skin surface. You turn on the machine and enter the security code. Then choose the intensity which you can bear, the more it is the more it burns hair. After pressing the scan process, laser starts scanning the area covered by the laser handle and take s upto a maximum of 1 minute to scan all that process. During this process you might feel a tingling sensation, and smell burning hair as it is normal in laser hair removal. In my opinion and my personal experience, laser works the best on thicker hair. I tried for nearly 4 times over 2 months period and can feel the difference already; I recommend it to every one Thumbs up from myself. Not suitable for afro Caribbean or black skin types. ADVANTAGES, Much cheaper than salon treatment as only one professional session is the price of this machine. DISADVANTAGES, Cant thick of any based on my own experience RECOMMEND?? I will recommend it to anyone who wants to get rid of hairs, but it's a time consuming and lengthy but effective solution Hope that helps. Thanks for reading my review

Quick review of Rio Scanning Laser Review ofRio Scanning Laserby

I purchased this very expensive product having used epilators in the past (with success), but was looking for a permanent solution. Sadly the Rio Scanning Laser is not the answer.
I found it very time consuming and awkward to cover even a very tiny area and it did not remove the hairs. What I found very irritating was having to overlap every minute area over and over. In the end I gave up and returned it.
I would not recommend it at all, don't waste your money, use an epilator instead.

Advantages: None Disadvantages: The whole product is one great failure
...and bikini area regularly, as Rio Scanning Laser has failed completely.
I ticked all necessary conditions required to be able to use it (I have dark hair etc.) but still, after numerous attempts, I never saw even one hair fall out. I used it a few times on my armpits and legs, it took me hours each time and my arm was aching from keeping it up for more than an hour, so I was really furious not to see any results.
For this money and effort that ...

Advantages: Scaning wand probably useful if used correctly Disadvantages: Single hair teatment probably works but will be hard, determined work
Hello, I have been reading these reviews as I am considering this product. Firstly, there are 2 different products listed as the same here, the single hair, and the scaning wand. As an ex-laser therapist (SLP1000, 4yrs) I would never even think of treating a single hair root- this is a silly idea even for a professional. Also, as this product is "safe" for untrained consumers, it is a very very low wattage, compared with "real" lasers at 40W per pulse. ...

The rio scanning lazer does 20 hairs at a time and is perfect for home use .
I have been going to a clinic for 1 year having unwanted hair removed ,which was painfull not to mention the cost . The rio is painless, also you have the advantage of zaping the unwanted hair as soon as it comes .
You must read the instructions as hair does grow in stages and you need to destroy the root. ,so there is no quick fix . i have been using the rio for upper ...

Advantages: none Disadvantages: time consuming, expensive, ineffective
...At over £90 i thought this was expensive but was won over by the claims of permamnent hairlessness! This gadget has a little laser that you have to direct at every individual hair you want to treat, after you have put water onto it. The instrucitons do say that each hair may need several treatments to be affected and the laser only works if you have it pointing right at the root, which may not necessarily be directly under the visible part fo the hair. you dont relaise how many hairs you have until you have to zap them one at a time. I have spent many hours using the laser on one leg only, for comparison, and and they still look the same. This product has made no observable difference to the level of hair on my leg.
The product says it is not safe for those with an afro-caribean skin and is most effective on paler skins. I am very...
