I have been purchasing Ritz crackers for years, because I find that they make a great snack and that they can be eaten a number of ways. Ritz crackers cost approximately £1.00 for a 200g box... more

    Advantages Advantages Crunchy, scrummy yummy!

Disadvantages Disadvantages High in fat and salt

My Husband loves these and I am always telling him that he shouldn't eat so many of them as they must be bad for them. So I thought that it was time to actually look into this to see exactly what they were about. Are they unhealthy or am I over reacting? ***Where Did They Come From*** From what I can gather these crackers were originally introduced to the USA by National Biscuit Company. They are now owned in the UK by Jacobs and appear to be part of the bigger group of Kraft. It is all a bit complicated as there are a millions companies and mergers and takeovers. They appeared in the 1930's ... more

With Christmas fast approaching much of my attention is being turned to the seemingly endless preparations and stock of 'just in case' measures. Enter here in stoic readiness the humble RITZ cracker……… Christmas Past Apparently in 1898 the New York Biscuit Company was formed by the merger of over 100 small bakeries. This became known as NABISCO the name emblazoned on the top of the iconic red box packaging that so easily identifies these crackers. RITZ crackers were launched in the US in 1935, but today the parent Company was formed by a merger between Kraft Foods and Nabisco in 2000, so both ... more

Advantages Advantages A tasty cheese snack

Disadvantages Disadvantages Maybe we shouldn't over indulge!

Whenever I see a box of Ritz crackers I think of Christmas, when we were children that was the only time of year that the bright red box was brought in through the front door. Mum used to hand them out as though they were precious gems and the contents of the box lasted the family all over the festive period! How times have changed, now I would buy a box of Ritz crackers any day of the week without feeling guilty and sit and eat far too many feeling really guilty! This all goes to show just how spoilt we are today, as the great depression took hold in America during the 1930s everyone yearned ... more

    Advantages Advantages tastey

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

Ritz are an extremely good snack to have if you are almost full up and just want something to finish off the hunger. I have been eating these for many years - both the cheese and original flavour. They are made from wheat (so obviously if you are allergic, dont touch this stuff). And if you are allergic to putting on weight, then stay away because when you eat them you will want to have some more because they taste so nice! The packaging is ever so simple. It is simply a cardboard box that is coloured either red or yello (pending on if its salted or cheese flavour that you are buying) On this ... more

4 Stars Crackers for Snackers Review with images 17/06/2009

Advantages Advantages The sandwich version is lovely; cheap for a big box; light and crisp

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Mindlessly addictive

Eventhough most my reviews are on sweet things, I have a savoury palete. I couldn't live with my Marmite, cheese, crisps etc... Thus, when choosing a savoury treat, crackers are my first choice. I actually prefer TUC cheese sandwich or mini cheddar over the Ritz biscuit/ cheese sandwich but there were none left in Asda so I picked up a 125g pack of Ritz cheese sandwich instead for 98p and a 200g box of Ritz original crackers for 93p. Now, judging by the title 'Ritz' I am assuming this is 'Ritz' in general so I am permitted to write a review of the varitaions without being criticised for it ... more
