Well I always wanted to make my own ice cream so last birthday I got bought this ice cream maker. I cant complain too much as it was a present and I didn't have a choice in which ice cream maker I got but if I buy another one it will not be this type of machine.
The removable bowl section has to be placed in the freezer for 12 hours (so the instructions say) but if you want to use this on a hot day I would advise 24 hours just to make sure. This task of making the ice cream in its self isn't too big a problem but if you have a small freezer it isn't the ice cream maker for you.The blue top is attractive and lets you see your creations fine, also there is a good push to dispense part that means you can make your own cones (looking a little like mr whippy). You can only make soft scoop in the machine but if you freeze your soft scoop again it will get harder like what I call an adult ice cream.
This ice cream maker gives you a chance to play with recopies and even makes a good yoghurt based ice cream (recipe book included) but be under no illusion, professional ice cream is not what this machine is for.
