Having seen the hyped up ad on the t.v. about the new wonder skin care range from RoC that promises to make you look ten years younger and wrinkle free I decided to investigate further - there's always one isn't there? Boots had a great deal on - buy two get one free on a whole range of products including the Retin-OX Correxion products which made me think I was getting something of a bargain hence I ended up with three tubes of the cream, night, day and an extra day one for luck. My first reaction to using the day cream was that it took a long time for the cream to sink in. The night cream smelled like urine on first sniff and didn't blend at all well. After a couple of days I noticed some red raised rashes on my face and I must have accidently got some of the cream around the eye area as they were very puffy and red and I look like I had been crying! After about three days my skin started to tingle every time I applied the cream and the red rashes were getting worse and becoming itchy, dry and patchy. As I don't rate myself as having particularly sensitive skin I was surprised at the effects. I rang Roc (01628 822222 -UK) and spoke to Customer Services who I must admit were very helpful and apologetic. They are sending me a self-paid jiffy bag and will refund me in full. I just hope my face returns to normal soon. I am currenting using E45 cream and it does seem to be having a very soothing effect.

not a brand I've tried and after reading this, not one I will be trying! At least the customer service was good though! :) xxx

Welcome to Ciao! Sorry to hear about your incident with his particular product. I'm not entirely convinced by these types of products and your review only makes my opinion firmer. A good first review and an interesting read...well done xxx

It was the retinol that caused the rash. Some skins are too sensitive to this, in my view, too wildly used ingredient. It sounds as though this cream perhaps has an even higher percentage of this. In future try to avoid any product containing retinol and stick to more gentle moisturisers. If you are feeling flush try Creme de la mer for anti-aging properties (read my op). Not so flush - try The Body Shop. My mum swears by their Vitamin E cream and she's still looking good.
