Advantages: Easy to use Disadvantages: some may want battery life to last longer
I have always wanted a Satellite Navigation (SatNav) device simply because I drive a lot and I am forever getting lost on my route.
I have been searching for a decent SatNav for a long time now, and up until recently the same one has been recommended to me time and time again from people I work with or know. This is the RoadAngel Navigator.
I brought this nifty gadget last week, and I am very please with it.

Advantages: Speed camera warnings, accident blackspot warning, gets you there Disadvantages: annoying audible in average speed camera area
I bought a roadangel navigator 6000 a little over a year ago now, i got it second hand for £50 as it had no sd card that contain the maps included, i was quite happy as my friend had one of these with the sd card so i figured i could just make a copy of his card, insert it and away i go. Its a simple basic machine that does what it says it does. I have used it on several occassions when travelling round glasgow, edinburgh and birmingham and find it to be of satisfactory use. Ok so there are a few bad points to it but you almost come to expect this with everything in this day and age ...
Advantages: Great GPS function Disadvantages: Subscription and no Radar sensor
2 miles apart, catches number plate at each and works out average speed between, but no physical signal to pick up.
Now the older style detectors would only tell you a direct hit from a laser or a radar signal from a Gatso. The rest of the cameras? you might as well not even have your detector.
However, with the RoadAngel it is worth it. Basically the way the unit works - it knows where you are and it knows where the cameras are (via GPS). This means that as soon as your going towards a camera it will alert you - the screen flashes bright red and you also get a beep to warn you it's been triggered. You can adjust the amount of warning you get. As you get closer to the point in question it will start to flash faster and you will get more bars appear on the screen. You also have your speed displayed on the unit (at all times ...
