Advantages: Good unit and price. Disadvantages: Not compatible with Windows Vista x64
I recently purchased a RoadPilot microGo, the second one I have bought. As a unit, they are excellent, however software compatibility may make you want to avoid due to the fact that the sync software to update the unit is not compatible with Windows Vista 64 bit and RoadPilot have no current intention of changing the software to support it.
I had this email from their customer service manager which I am sure you can verify with them:
Dear Mr xxxxxxxxx
Thank you for your e-mail.
Having now looked into your problem further, unfortunately, I have to advise that the RoadPilot Sync Software is not compatible with vista 64 bit only vista 32 bit. I have spoken with our Technical Director and he advises that at present there are no immediate plans to change the software to incorporate compatibility with 64 bit. I am sorry you are ...
Advantages: Detachable Laser and external gps antennae Disadvantages: Lots of wires
I just thought I would bring this device to your attention.
RoadPilot comes from the company which pioneered GPS accident blackspot detection.
For £399.95 you get a small, descreet device (not much bigger than a box of matches) which you can mount on your dashboard. I understand they also produce a larger touch screen version for £100 more.
I have to say having used it now for 6 months I am convinced it has made me a less eratic driver. It makes you very aware of the speed you are doing and once you get into the proximity of a speed camera (the proximity is user defined and adjustable) it warns you of the distance the device is from you together with what speed you are doing and very importantly what the local speed limit is in that area.
Of course people are going to say don't speed in the first place but we all drift over ...
Advantages: A pen that you can erase Disadvantages: None
The Pen
The Pen is brightly coloured and the same colour as the ink and has a silver tattoo design, with remove by friction written on it. On the end of the pen a silver rubber bit, which is what removes the ink by friction-generated heat. The lid matches the pen and has pilot and frixon ball written in silver. The pen comes in a variety of colours, eight in all.
My Opinion
I love doing puzzles and I am always on the lookout for a pen that would help me that. I saw this pen in WH Smiths one day and thought that?s a good idea but I wonder if it works. So I went to the till pen in hand and purchased it, once I got it home I opened the packet and gave it a little test. So I got a scrap of paper and did a little scribble, I then turned the pain over and as instructed I rubbed the silver end over the pen and was amazed at what I ...
The most powerful radar detector money can buy, phenomenal range and sensitivity, detects "multiple threats", provides warning against virtually all speed traps
Very expensive, will not spot the newer SPECS and TRUVELO cameras ( fortunalty they are in limited use), sensitivity comes at a price i e false alarms but you get to learn how to distinguish them.Display angled to the left though not a big issue (*)
