A colourful and laminated cover of a sporty style car with learner driver plates adorns this just smaller than A5 paperback book by robertdavies. The spine is about an inch and a half thick composing over 320 pages of stuff to help you pass your driving test.
It is a handbook I used over a year ago to pass my test. I know I left it a bit late to learn how to drive, but alas as a child and teen I was spoilt with parents who taxied me around whenever I needed. But now having children myself I realised it was my turn to do some chavuering and had to get my licence.
This book holds inside all the information needed to pass the UK driving test. It contains information not only for passing the theory test - its a written examination where you have 35...

Advantages: A great read for those who like novels set in a 'classical' era Disadvantages: Not the best Falco book, but because its the first one, it IS advisable (though by no means essential) to read it
...Silver Pigs IS a good book, but I did find parts of it vaguely dull (Falco's 'stint' working closely with silver) and so it was not quite as gripping as those further on in the series, but it was her first one in the series.
This was not the Davis' book that I started off with - I actually began with Venus in Copper (an aunt bought it for me) and having enjoyed that one so much; back-tracked to the others. I don't think i missed all that much doing this; perhaps some of the subtleties of his relationship with Helena were lost; but not anything earthshattering.
Davis' characters are fantastic, and I love her little introductions to them all as the 'dramatis personae'.
A slightly below par book from an above average series....

Advantages: full of interesting characters and storylines Disadvantages: none whatsoever
...who has a sister who works for Davis and Dash (the name of the company which the book revolves around), so there may be a chance for the book to be published. But is there a chance for her lovelife?
Gerald Och Davis, Junior - G.O.D, the head of Davis and Dash, who thinks he has what it takes to be a writer! He's clearly delusional, as his thousands of remaindered books prove. But he is determined to make it LOOK like he's a bestselling author - even if it means stealing other people's sales.
Jude Daniels - a psuedonym for a husband and wife team. Judith has done all the work, but Daniel is about to take all the glory and prove what a sham their relationship is in the process.
Pam Mantis - the nymphomaniac editor may be fantastic at her job but she isn't the world's nicest person. In fact she could be the devil's sister!
The book follows...
