perspective through exposure to a pair of disparate influences: his own highly educated, but fiscally unstable father, and the multimillionaire eighth-grade dropout father of his closest friend. The lifelong monetary problems experienced by his "poor dad" (whose weekly paychecks, while respectable, were never quite sufficient to meet family needs) pounded home the counterpoint communicated by his "rich dad" (that "the poor and the middle class work for money," but "the rich have money work for them"). Taking that message to heart, Kiyosaki was able to retire at 47. Rich Dad Poor Dad, written with consultant and CPA Sharon L. Lechter, lays out his the philosophy behind his relationship with money. Although Kiyosaki can take a frustratingly long time to make his points, his book is nonetheless a compelling advocate for the type of "financial literacy" that's never taught in schools. Based on the principle that income-generating assets always provide healthier bottom-line results than even the best of traditional jobs, it explains how the former might be acquired so that the latter eventually can be shed. --Howard Rothman, Amazon.com
Advantages: can be read in day, easily understood business principles Disadvantages: at times it becomes repetitive
...Rich Dad Poor Dad is an essential read to anyone who is ready to commit themselves to a collection of other books which if once read, are understood and their principles applied, can help anyone become financially independent.
This may seem like a mouthful, but all it means is that there is no get rich quick scheme outlined in this book or in any of his other best-sellers. There is however a mind-set which Mr. Kiyosaki is attempting to install in all of us.
The book outlines his famous 'cash flow quadrant' which divides people into employees; self-employed; business owners and investors. He then proceeds to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each group and even how it is possible to move across from being an employee to being a busines owner.
Motivational, inspiring, and introduction to the world of the rich!...

Advantages: Very motivating Disadvantages: All theoretical, but needs to be proven
...An eye opener to everyone who wants to change their reality in earning their income. RobertKiyosaki explains to us the difference between earned income and passive income. These he illustrates using the two perspective of a Rich Dad, and Poor Dad. The Poor Dad who is his own biological father and the Rich Dad, who was his friends father. Both dads were good dads, but both dads have different perspective on how to become rich. Poor dad worked as a school teacher with the highest degree, while rich dad worked and build businesses. In the end poor dad worked his whole life. While rich dad became a multi-billionaire.The main thing that has been stressed in this book is for everyone to be able to be conscious on working smart rather than working hard. RobertKiyosaki stresses that everyone should not work hard for money but to let...

Advantages: Makes you think outside the box! Disadvantages: Only one - Anyone that is closed minded won't make the effort to understand.
...Anyone who has ever struggled to understand finance or who has simply struggled will appreciate this book if read with an open mind.
Money is one of those things that we often don't wish to talk about and quite often it is because we really aren't qualified to.
RobertKiyosaki has taken the complexities of finance, and more specifically 'How Money Works', and explained it in terms that anyone can understand. Not only this he also teaches you how to HOLD onto and DEVELOP it rather than MAKE it and WASTE it.
His ability to write reminds me of a saying Albert Einstein once said: 'You never truly understand something until you can explain it so your grandmother understands'. I may have paraphrased that but the essence of Einsteins meaning is borne out in Kiyosaki's Rich Dad Poor Dad.
He is a consummate writer being the only person ever...
