Advantages: tastes yum! Disadvantages: none left in my bottle!
...little darlings had spotted the Robinsons Fruit and Barley on special offer, three 1L bottles for £2.00, not bad eh. I think he’d been subjected to quite a bit of kiddie pressure as the floor was littered with discarded sweetie papers and biscuit wrappers by the time I got home from work and they were complaining of feeling sick.

Not sure if they still do. Then again it might help poor Timbos performance (I‘m sure I can play tennis much better under the influence of alcohol!). I wonder if the Wombles would do a better job than Tim Henman, sorry I’m rambling! I used to like the Wombles, wanted to be Madame Cholet (got the right figure for her). Sorry still rambling!
The other day I was desperate for a drink, what’s new I hear you say? But no I didn’t want alcohol (for a change) I wanted something fruity. My husband has a habit of buying whatever is cheap at Lidls so it was a total surprise to find three bottle of dilutey juice in our larder. Anyway, I decided to have a beaker full of the peach variety. The smell hits you as soon as you open the bottle, its reminds me of tinned peaches in syrup, which is quite good seeing as how it is a peach flavoured squash, wouldn’t want it smelling of cabbage would we? I couldn’t detect any barley smell but I am unsure as to how it smells or tastes anyway. I know it is an ingredient in some beers but this stuff definitely doesn’t taste beery. Probably just as well we don’t want our tennis players getting pissed on centre court at Wimbledon do we? Robinsons used to sponsor Wimbledon didn’t they? Not sure if they still do. Then again it might help poor Timbos performance (I‘m sure I can play tennis much better under the influence of alcohol!). Anywaysup, back to the fruit and barley stuff, it needs to be diluted before drinking. I did try it neat (just to test) but it isn’t recommended. Robinsons instruct you how much to use on the side of the bottle, one part concentrate to four parts of water, extra water for toddlers. Remember to shake the bottle well before pouring. I like it very diluted as when I was small my mam used to make a bottle of squash last about a month so I’m still not used to full-on flavours 30 odd years later. With this stuff you don’t need to use a lot at a time as it has such a concentrated flavour. It does taste very peachy (16% peach juice), and is quite sweet but not sickly and cloying and heavy like some juices. It is instantly refreshing. Maybe it is the addition of the barley (1%) that stops it being too sweet.
According to the label it doesn’t contain added sugars or artificial colours but does have artificial sweeteners, vitamin B and is a source of phenylalanine. I have just looked up phenylalanine and seemingly it is a mood altering substance, OMG, Robinsons are trying to drug us all! Actually, I’ve just gone back and re-read it and its supposed to be a good thing and is found in nuts and dairy produce. Robinsons tell us about it on the label as too much of it isn’t recommended to pregnant women, those who suffer from anxiety attacks, high blood pressure and diabetes.
If you are after a smooth fruity refreshing drink suitable for the entire family, I would have no hesitation in recommending Robinsons Fruit & Barley, especially when it is on special offer. I have tried it as a mixer with my vodka along with lemonade and that is quite pleasant too. Maybe they should try that at Wimbledon. The other flavours available are orange, summer fruits, citrus, pink grapefruit, apple and blackcurrant and strawberry and kiwi.
Advantages: refreshing healthy drink Disadvantages: more expensive
...after a meal. So when robinsons fruit & barley became part of my household, everything change!
THE BEGINNING
It all started when my son have to take a water bottle at school everyday. I noticed that he's not drinking enough water like me and usually took it back home without even drinking. Instantly I knew that he's not loving the taste of water so I decided to give a flavoured water a try. It's quite expensive which cost 1.46 for 4 small bottle. ... ...the cheaper option like squash. Robinsons fruit & barley was my first choice because I've tried the orange flavour on my friends house and the taste was just alright for me. A lot of the cheaper brands also tend to have lots of added colours and artifical flavourings so I chose Robinson instead. We have tried different flavour such as orange, lemon, summer fruit , kiwi but the one we fell inlove with was the peach. From then on, that's the only flavour ...

Advantages: cheap, tasty Disadvantages: I prefer fruit juice
...I am that I discovered Robinsons Fruit and Barley peach! I first tried it after noticing it on promotion in my local 24 hour shop and thought that I might as well give it a go, as I was particularly thirsty at the time. Although it certainly didnt taste as nice as the pure fruit juice I had become accustomed to at home, Robinsons fruit and barley certainly isnt bad! Since that fateful day last October, there have been few, if any occasions where ... ...is a great thing, and Robinsons fruit and barley peach certainly does that! In fact im almost certain that drinks such as these will ensure that kids continue to drink ample amounts of water for years to come!
I'm certainly a big fan of this product and intend to continue drinking it well into the future. Its available in 1 litre bottles, although im not sure if it comes in smaller or larger bottles, if I find out either way, i'll make sure to let ...

...than with a bottle of Robinsons smooth fruit and barley drink?
I bought the peach flavour. I paid £1.09 for a 1 litre bottle. The clear plastic bottle with the green top is very noticeable on the shelves. Everybody recognises the Robinsons logo with the fruit and barley name on the front of the labelling. The ingredients and nutritional information is stated on the labelling. Per 100ml there is 14kcal/59kj and a trace of fat. It also contains 0.6mg ... ...like this drink, and am a loyal follower of the Robinsons drink. I'm not too keen on the grapefruit flavour. Peach and orange being my favourite flavours.

Advantages: Healthy fruit flavoured drink Disadvantages: None really
I used to drink Robinsons Barley water when I was a child but I have not tried it for years. I went to the shop recently when I had a head cold and decided it might be a good idea to get a bottle instead of the ususal sweet coke or lemonade. All the bottles had brightly labeled No added sugar and exotic fruit descriptions. I checked the sell by date and they all seemed okay up to Feb 2008. I chose the peach, the colour is almost like pink grape fruit ... ...bottle size is 1 litre.
Robinsons is the most popular selling squash in the UK at the moment. It is owned by Britvic. My own experience of the drink is that it is a good replacement to have if you drink too much coffee or lemonade. It is quite a healthy drink and there is a good range of flavours, lemon, grapefruit and a few more. The price is reasonable as you get a lot of drinks (approximately 20 ) per bottle. The taste is excellent and you can ...

Advantages: added vitamins, no artifical colours, tastes good Disadvantages: have to dilute it (sorry im very lazy!)
To me robinsons is a household name in the uk along with cadburys kellogs to name a few... I drink alot, soft drinks that is. I like drinking pure juice usually and i buy those economy 1 litre orangejuice cartons but i can normally finish those off in a day or so. So thats when i reach for my trusty bottle of robinsons. I think that they have improved there whole range over the years offering more choices rather than just orange or lemon squashes. ... ...mainly supermarket brands and most of them taste like burnt chemicals and nothing like the fruit they're ment to be. Alot of the cheaper brands also tend to have lots of added colours and e numbers and artifical flavourings, not nice, so choose robinsons and you cant really go wrong! ...
