This is one of the best books that I have read in a long time, i'm afraid i'm going to have to revert to cliches by stating that once I started reading this book I really couldn';t put it down and I so wanted to find out why Hannah and Emmeline never speak again and I wasn't disapointed by the unveiling of the conclusion to the novel. This story flicks between two time zones as the narrator, Grace, looks back on her life as a servant at Riverton. ...
...as children, the narration follows these characters through their childhood into adulthood and Grace's friendship with Hannah. The story was intriguing throughout the whole novel and I didn;t find there to be any parts that lost my interest. The mystery is set up from the blurb on the back of the novel and therefore captivated me from the beginning as I wanted to know what the climax would be.
