Hilarious Valentine

Advantages: Made me laugh at loud
Disadvantages: over far to soon

I discovered this book after finishing my exams earlier than my friends a few years ago and needed something light to occupy my time before everyone else finished studying. It is the usual type of book i would go for but after spending hours sifting through text books i was looking for a page turner that required little input on my behalf. This book filled all expectations. It follows the plights of very liberal journalist Stevie. She wants to right ...
...in mexico, which she is researching when we are first introduced to here. Unfortunately the only newspaper that she has she has access to is a tabloid, which would prefer publishing artlices about celebrities and their on again off again romances. When stevie, in a world of her own, walks full pace into one of the worlds most famous movie stars at the airport, totally by accident, her life is changed. As she has a percieved connection with Louis ...

Sex Fueled Text, Not Text Sex

Advantages: A gripping read that has to be read and finished in one sitting
Disadvantages: You can't put it down, the ending wasn't to my taste.

...Fenella McCabe, or Fen as she is usually called indeed the main character. She is in love with Julius Featherstone, an artist that died nearly fifty years ago and whom has created such tantalisingly sexual pieces of art that Fen has decided not to give her heart to any man that does not have the effect on her that Julius shows in his art work. Namely 'Abandon' and other such pieces. Fen has a degree and is an art historian, recently hired to sort ...
...likes the best. As Fen says, "men are like buses, you wait ages for one and then two come along at once." Fen also has the added responsibility of realising that her friends and house mates ar esharing a lover. How will she react to the news and how she will view it compared to her own life are anyone's guess. I won't spoil this for you, but it had to be mentioned as it has a very unexpected outcome! ************************************************************************ ...

Could you "Face The Fire"

Advantages: An unusual novel with a witchcraft theme
Disadvantages: Marketed as a Romantic novel which may deter some readers.

Review of Face The Fire, a novel by Nora Roberts. I am reviewing the paperback edition of the novel. ISBN 0 7499 3298 8 Published by Piatkus in 2002 Cover price £5.99 358 pages. The plot The prologue is set in 1702. A woman throws herself off the cliffs of her island home, her lover has gone, her sisters are dead and her life is over. She uses the last of her supernatural powers to cast a spell of protection around her island home. She declares ...
...of spoiling for others! Face The fire is the third novel in a trilogy, I must be perfectly honest here and state that I have not read the previous two books, however the storyline is so well crafted that this did not actually matter. Events unfolded in a natural fashion and the references and explanations of past events were woven into the novel in such a skillful way, that Face The Fire can easily be enjoyed in it's own right. Author, Publisher ...

Mmm a Full Scoop of Ice Cream Please

Advantages: Great plot with likable characters, plenty to make you laugh
Disadvantages: Slightly longer than her other books

...of Janet Evanovich (Full Tilt, Full Speed). A couple of years later, Evanovich teamed up with Charlotte Hughes to continue the Full series as a co-authored work (releasing Full Blast in 2004, and Full Bloom in 2005). Now at the sixth in the series, Full Scoop was published in 2006 under the St Martin's Paperback label. PLOT Fourteen years ago, Dr Maggie Farnsworth was romantically involved with a guy named Carl Lee. Shortly after they'd separated ...
...the characters from the previous Full stories - Jamie Swift, Max Holt, Vera, Deedee, Destiny... and Fleas the dog. OPINION To say that this is a co-authored book, there isn't that much difference in the writing style than you'd find in any pure Evanovich book. It's slightly more serious, slightly less slapstick, but that's about all. Having not read any of Charlotte Hughes' work, I can't compare it to her individual style. The story is a believable ...
