Riders and Rivals
Review of Lisa & Co - Jilly Cooper by
flib2000
Advantages: The storys
Disadvantages: The sex depressing if you're singel
Ok so Jilly Cooper books are not for anyone who's prudish about sex, lets face it it's bed hopping at is best, but as books go these are great.
First things first there are six books in the serise and they should be read in order Riders, Rivals, polo, The Man who made husbands jelouse, Apassionata and Score (although if you were to be pedantic you should read half of rivals the first half of polo thh second half of rivals and the seconde half of ... ...between the chracters are far to complecated to put down here but all you need to know is that most things always come back somehow to Rupert Campbell Black the dashing show jumper come politican come TV exec come horse trainer!
Despite all the bed and wife swaping that goes on with in the covers of the books there is a really good saga that keeps you reading ...

Wicked
Review of Wicked - Jilly Cooper by
zippstar
Advantages: Detailed
Disadvantages: Very long. Can be confusing
I have yet to finish this book because I am finding it extremely hard to get into. There are too many characters to keep track of them, and I don't feel they are portrayed convincingly at all! The amount of underage teenage sex is disgraceful, and teachers with pupils doesn't sit well with me at all! As for a beach book, well, I hope you have strong shoulders because this book is HEAVY! If teenagers out there read this, will they be thinking it's ... ...a famous author crosses that line, but then no consequences happen. We also have teachers smoking pot and having getting with other teachers quicker than a rabbit swaps partners. Good Points
Well, OK, the book has got some. Some of the characters are incredibly likeable (when you finally remember who is who). Janna Curtis doesn't exactly act as a new head would, but you like her all the same, and her neighbour Lily. The dog, Partner, is also cute. ...

Sex and Scandal - What a Mix!
Review of Polo - Jilly Cooper by
krazykat2005
Advantages: fantastic story, interesting characters, easy read
Disadvantages: takes a while to get through as it is pretty long
...**
The plotline of Polo heads off in so many different directions that it would be difficult to explain the gist of the story in just one paragraph. It opens with spoilt schoolgirl Perdita Macleod escaping from an exam to watch a local polo match, where we are quickly introduced to the other main players in Polo (forgive the pun) Ricky France-Lynch, Drew Benedict and Bart Alderton, and other favourites such as Seb and Dommie Carlisle (better know ... ...are so many characters in Polo that there is actually a list at the beginning of the book detailing who is who - even the animals get a mention here!
Whilst the storyline mostly follows obnoxious Perdita in her quest to become the world's best woman polo player, there is plenty of other stuff happening along the way. We jump from person to person and place to place following the uber-posh game of polo - from the green idyll of the English countryside ...

Tally Ho
Review of Riders - Jilly Cooper by
kismet
Advantages: Keep you entertained for hours
Disadvantages: none
The series which starts with Riders is fantastic. Riders follows the life of Showjumping, in particular Rupert Campbell-Black, Billy Lloyd-Foxe and Jake Lovell . The storyline is fantastic, a lot of research has gone into the book and you can tell that Jilly Cooper is very proud of her work. I am the proud owner of a signed copy of Score, and I wouldn't part with it for anything.
Rupert comes across as a complete pig, and Billy as a loveable rogue. ... ...an american woman called Helen who adores him and thinks she can change his ways, however he carries on womanising. Billy marries a journalist called Janey who is an absolute bitch, and Jake marries fat but loveable Tory, mainly for her money, so he can compete with Rupert on an even level and exact revenge for past events.
Fen is Tory's sister, and she also plays a large part in the book.
Their lives are told with such passion, and enthusiasm, ...

Lysander ... Guaranteed to make your man see red
Review of The Man Who Made Husbands Jealous - Jilly Cooper by
ASIL1508
Advantages: Rupert Campbell Black is back!!
Disadvantages: Pah, there ain't any!
...COMES I’VE GOT IT?***
The same old story here I’m afraid, in fact, after this one, I ain’t gonna use this subtitle any more. I mean, how many more times can I use the ‘old chestnut’ ‘liked Riders, Polo and Rivals so I thought I’d try her next book’?? Actually, I haven’t used that old chestnut before, so in reality, that’s a new chestnut …………… but anyway I can’t keep repeating from my other ops can I? You know how comes I came to read it don’t you? ... ...On to the good stuff, the stuff that book ops are made of……………..
