The story is told from the perspective of two sisters, the first is Bette Tredinnick who is the younger of the two. Miss You Forever - Josephine Cox
Review of Miss you Forever - Josephine Cox by booeze123

Advantages: A Real Page-Turner
Disadvantages: None

I read this book , Miss You Forever, in a day, why? Simply because I wanted to know what happened to the characters that made this page turner such a great read. The book starts with the heroine Kathleen being taunted by thugs because she looks like a vagabond, but there's so much more to Kathleen and the life she has led up to this point. After being followed to a "coal-hole" where she decides to sleep for the night, Kathleen is beaten by the same ...
...kind-hearted nurse, called Rosie. Rosie is entrusted with the only thing of value to Kathleen, her diaries. It is through Rosie reading the diaries, whilst caring for Kathleen in hospital that we learn of Kathleen's family history and life. The diaries we go on a turbulent journey filled with fear, heartache, tenderness, loss and of course, love. In 1855 kathleen was a child growing up in Blackburn, with her brother Adam, afraid of her father. After ... Read review

Curves in All the Right Places
Review of Curvaceous - Victoria Blisse by Soho_Black

Advantages: A wonderful combination of romance and erotica
Disadvantages: A bit expensive to take a chance on

Being friends with an aspiring author can be an interesting experience. You get to act as their main cheerleader through the writing process, keep them going through the less interesting part of editing and can share the highs if they are good enough or lucky enough (or both!) to get published. Maybe if you're a close enough friend, you get a personalised signed copy. Of course, you're then obliged to read the book which, in this case, caused a ...
...is a writer of erotic fiction, which isn't a genre I've ever had any real desire to read before now, nor one with any great appeal, regardless of who has written it. Sometimes, friendship can be a demanding mistress, but it does have its rewards. Ms Blisse, as I insist on calling her, much to her amusement, has been a published author for some time, having had quite a few E-Books and stories published by. "Curvaceous", however, marks the first time ... Read review

Chloe by Freya North
Review of Chloe - Freya North by starjen

Advantages: Enjoyable and easy to read.
Disadvantages: None

...about a young woman called Chloe who has recently lost her godmother, Jocelyn. Jocelyn left Chloe a letter which instructs her to give up her lousy job and awful boyfriend and go travelling around the United Kingdom. At first she doesn't know what to do but after having a good think and a chat with Mr & Mrs Andrews (a picture she owns, as did Jocelyn) she decides to go for it. Her first destination is to Wales to stay with one of Jocelyn's old friends, ...
...I realised the main Character Chloe was having a conversation with a picture, but as this continues throughout the book I got used to it and you learnt more about how Chloe was feeling from her chats, and to honest most of us talk to ourselves sometimes! You really get to know Chloe, and watch her character develop as she goes on her journey, and although it is a predictable book and you know what is going to happen almost from the word go it is ... Wise Children By Angela Carter
Review of Wise Children - Angela Carter by gbninet

Advantages: Everything, all outstanding!
Disadvantages: Eventually, like everything else. It comes to an end.

One of the best books I have read! I still re-read it again and again when bored. I studied this book for my English literature AS levels with the majority of the class enjoying the book as much as I did. Yes I am a male and this book will be moreover seen to be targeted towards the women. However, personally as a student with many other males in the classroom it proved that the male's would enjoy this as much as the females. The novel starts of ...
...well... the rest is for you to find out out! I won't spoil the novel for you guys! Angela Carters' use of magic realism and carnivalesque really sets the tone and feel towards the reader and brings out the excitement within the novel by giving all her characters a uniquely 'magical spark'. Sometimes they say things are 'too good to be true', well read this. Highly recommended! ... Read review
