Emotionally captivating, brilliant.

Advantages: Easy to read and get into
Disadvantages: No sequal!

...first drew my attention to Love is a Four Letter Word, I was stood in the bookshop one day looking for a new summer read as the hot pink and mint green cover of this book drew my attention; as I picked it up I giggled to myself at how Jammie Dodger biscuits had been used instead of the letter O in the title – not a huge or even highly interesting play on a title, but to me it was comical. I flicked to the back cover as I do with all books and read ...

...and spotted a copy of Living Dangerously in a charity shop I decided to buy it. ~The Plot~ Polly Cameron is 35 years old and works in a café with her best friend Bridget. She lives in a small cottage with only her cat for company, but insists that she is happy being single. Illegal Money?

Advantages: Good light read with humour, crime and romance.
Disadvantages: You may not want a light read.

...characters are better developed in Love and Dr Devon. I sensed the author really enjoyed adding his knowledge and love of gardening to this plot. Also the Hampshire countryside around the River Itchen village, where Dr Devon lives, seems to have a personal touch. He appears to have done quite a lot of research for the medical and flying parts of the plot, with the help of qualified people, but asks readers not to blame his helpers if he has misunderstood ...

Or if you fancy a bit of Alan on a weekday afternoon, turn to ITV1 for "The Alan Titchmarsh Show", where you can get chat with celebrities and unsung heros, a bit of music and art, plus lifestyle advice, which can even include gardening. *** Recommendation *** Recommended if you would light a light read with detective ...
