Do you think I could gargle with this

Advantages: Its unusual taste
Disadvantages: Its unusual taste

Firstly I would like to thank Starsally for telling me that there was a space to write about my favourite soft drink. So thank you Starsally.

Among most of my friends, it seems that I am the only one who likes to drink Root Beer. This I cannot understand as I think that it is one of the most refreshing drinks around.

A well-known fast food chain first introduced me to this. I bought my first one and from ...
...this flavour at their branches and I can say that I was well and truly gutted.

I have searched far and wide, while on my travels, tried this brand and that brand. All in all I have tried a far few combinations. I am now happy to report that I have found a brand that I am happy with.

Would you believe I have found this at Asda? I was looking for my children’s favourite fizzy drink, when low and behold ... more

The Soda crafted like Beer.

Advantages: It has a very unique taste.
Disadvantages: So many types.

There are so many Root Beer brands here in the United States. There are even people who have their own recipes and make their own. Root Beer is a sweetened, carbonated drink that originally was made using the root of the sassafras plant or the bark from the tree. Birch Beer is similar, but uses birch tree bark. Depending on the different regions, a variety of other ingredients were added. Anything from dandelion, juniper, corn syrup, etc., but the ...
...Beer, and unless you tasted it, it's hard to describe. It's almost like caramel, but not as sweet, yet a bit more thicker. A perfect Root Beer is drunk from a Beer mug or stein, and should be full-bodied and thickly foamed. It is actually processed like a beer, put in barrels and kegs. I think it would be hard to find a commercial Root Beer that uses sassafras, and uses all the old time ingredients. Today it's about flavor. Nobody actually pours ...

Float away in a rootbeer cloud!

Advantages: Delicious!
Disadvantages: Only 1 Brand in UK easily available.

Bored with the regular flavour of soft drinks? there are colas, oranges, fruit flavoured drinks galore, but none really stand out from the crowd in the same way that Root Beer does. Let me explain.…. On its own, Root Beer (RB) is a tasty thirst quencher, it’s flavour one to be savoured as opposed to being an easily swallowed complimentary taste to carbonated water. Root Beer is always, and I cant stress enough how important it is for RB to be ...
...a pint glass of RB always yields a glass full of body, with a head somewhat like a pint, of real beer! Tastes like toothpaste, is what my mum thinks, not a fan. She doesn’t like colas or carbonated drinks in general though. I find the taste to be totally different to the mainstream fizzy soft drinks. I beleive it's taste can be the most closely related to Dr Pepper. But without the sweetness.. has more bite, punch.. but frothy man! Taste those ...

Root Beer - The thinking mans soft drink!

Advantages: Not many people will nick your drink
Disadvantages: Not many brands available

...- style root beers Sainsburys own label "Traditional" root beer: Avoid like a root beer plague! the last bottle of this I had tasted disgusting, NOT GOOD ROOT BEER AT ALL! If you have any shops near you that import sweets/drinks from the US try A&W or MUG root beer, they are some of the best although can be quite expensive (about £1.20 a can!) ...

Mmm tasty tree drink

Advantages: unusual, unique, refreshing, tasty
Disadvantages: medicinal, rare

Root beer, its one of those great American traditions. When I was younger and I watched American kids programs I wondered how they got away with drinking a beer. When I actually went to America for the first time I realised it was simply a soft drink and was almost as wide spread as other soft drinks such as Coca-Cola. Available as a drink with your McDonlads or in a theme park I quickly came to try it for the first time. Now the name root beer doesn't ...
...it had my curiosity from an early age. What was it all these US kids loved so much. First off I found it quite a strange taste, but it was still a drinkable fizzy drink. It quickly hits you that it has a familiar taste, almost medicinal. A lot of people may say this, but its true. It's just not an extreme medicinal taste, like I said it still is very drinkable. I found it to be sweet and tangy but also refreshing. The best I can do to describe its ...

Not really a fan!

Advantages: Rare In the UK
Disadvantages: It tastes like Germolene

On my first visit to the USA I thought I'd try Root Beer.... I knew from the moment I opened the can I had made a mistake. It smells like antiseptic cream, and tastes pretty much the same. I honestly thought I'd like it being such a fan of Dandelion And Burdock, but I couldn't drink more than a mouthful of the stuff. It is widely available in Asda, but quite who would buy it is beyond me! There are so many things American I like.... Root Beer isn't ...

You have to drink it cold - sooooo refreshing

Advantages: It's refreshing, tastes good, not too expensive.
Disadvantages: It's not the real thing.

also buy this brand of root beer in Sainsbury's, but I am yet to see this with my own eyes. ***WHAT'S IN IT*** Here's a run down of the Ingredients for all that they are; 1. Carbonated Water 2. Sugar 3. Flavourings 4. Colour (E150d) 5. Citric Acid 6. Preservative (Sodium Benzoate) 7. Sweetener (Sodium Sacharin) Each can contains approximately 113.85 Calories. The shelf life of these cans is typically one year going by the use by date on the bottom of these cans that were bought not too long ago. ***MY OVERALL OPINION*** I love Root Beer, and although this isn't exactly the real thing I'll make do. I think this is a drink that people either love or hate and perhaps I'd even go as far as to say that it's an aquired taste. It's not too pricey and as long as it's in stock you can get it at your local ...

Review of Carter's Root Beer

Smell the taste

Advantages: Superb Smell, Great for Kids
Disadvantages: Doesn't taste like it until it's flat

but you're not going to break the bank. The packaging tells you straight away its aimed at the young 'uns, though I suspect that there'll be plenty of adults out there who will like this. . So what's it like? Is it any good? Well it's hard to pigeonhole. First off, the second the seal is broken, and long before the top is actually of the bottle, the smell evokes fond memories of childhood, as it smells exactly like the taste of those scrumptious Banana and Toffee Chewbars I loved as a Kid. And I don't just mean smells like, I mean smells EXACTLY like!. If you're bewildered about something smelling like the taste of something else then crack open a bottle and you'll see what I mean. However, those of you who who've ever tasted Root Beer (Sainsbury's sold it in the 90's and my local discount stores had another brand selling at 10p a 330 ...
