Advantages Safe, pretty . . .Perfect!
Disadvantages Nothing
When I discovered I was having a little girl I was overjoyed (just as I would have been if I was having a boy.) I wanted to create her a pretty pink palace for when she was born. I spent hours dragging my quite willing partner around shop after shop, the main one, receiving quite a few visits from us in my last months of pregnancy was mothercare.
The theme I chose for her nursery was bunny's, and lots of them. We got all of our bedding, curtains, rugs and other decor items from next in the next bunny range. When it came to furniture items however mothercare was our main shop for that. They have a wide selection of nursery furniture and most important, Moses baskets.

When we bought ours three years back it cost around £50. I thought that it was quite a lot of money to pay as I had seen others for a lot smaller price. However Moses baskets are one of those items that the higher the price the better as you feel that if you pay more money than inevitably it will be a better quality of material, better made, safer, more durable etc. I know that's not always the case but it does make you feel more at ease feeling as though it's a safe as it can be. Just checking on the mothercare website this Moses basket is now currently available for around £35, which is a better price to pay as well as still knowing that the Moses basket is of a very high standard.
There are several stands that can be used with this Moses basket. I don't know if there are others you can use that aren't supplied by mothercare, but I personally wouldn't take that risk. The sales assistant was very lovely (despite my hormonal panics about safety) and kindly showed me the range mothercare recommend using with the Moses basket. The stands range in style, colour and price. The more basic stands are your cheapest and start at around £20, then you have your more advanced rocking stands such as the one pictured below costing around £60. This is also the one that we bought and I found it worked with the Moses basket incredibly well.
Now the Moses basket is available in both white and pink, with the white still having some pink, but the majority of it being white. We bought the pink for two factors, one - it would go better with the rest of the nursery and two - white and baby sick is definitely a no no!
The Moses basket is very simple but also very pleasing to the eye. The main colours are baby pink, dark pink, white and the warm creamy colour on the base. There are also some multi coloured dots on the hood and on the cover. These are not overwhelming colours but cleverly blend in with the rest of the colours creating a simple, warm and calming environment that any baby would feel relaxed within.
