Advantages: Fun t-shirts at reasonable prices sent to your door Disadvantages: Can't try them on before ordering
Recently I popped round to my mum and dads house for a visit (as you do). Chatting away to my mum, I went to the 'post table' to see if any of my post had been sent there by accident. I had a lovely pile of bills, goody! But on my dads pile was a mini catalogue with characters across the front and black and white squares. Now what was a 50 year old man doing with a book with Miffy on the front I hear you ask?! Well, I have no idea; he was on the ... ...hold of your personal details. With permission from my dad I opened it up for a look.

Now what was a 50 year old man doing with a book with Miffy on the front I hear you ask?! Well, I have no idea; he was on the mailing list I guess...in the secret world of companies getting hold of your personal details. With permission from my dad I opened it up for a look.
The catalogue was sent from 'Rosie Nieper t-shirts’, which was written across the front in pink. I must say, the front cover is very fun looking and inviting. It has something for kids and adults alike on it. Anyway, I opened it up and on the first page, the unmistakable Dr Seuss! I used to love Dr Seuss books as a child, green eggs and ham 'n' all that malarkey!
The catalogue is full of t-shirts from many different designers, I'll list the types there is and give an example of each, just so you get the gist.
*Dr Seuss*- based on the children’s books. Example- green eggs and ham text (accompanied by the picture from the book), also one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish text (accompanied by pictures from the book). They come in a range of children’s sizes from age 3 to 10 for £11.95. Also available in adult sizes med, large, Xlarge for £18.95.
*Delicious*- these t-shirts are aimed at young girls, or women who like to wear fun things! For example, a picture of a cow accompanied by the text ‘daft’, and also a picture of a bunny with the word ‘happy’. They come in sizes 10-12 and are £21.95.
*T-chest*- these are all t-shirts for men, which come in sizes medium, large and X large. They are all priced at £14.95. Some examples of text: “Success means never having to wear a suit” “My rice krispies told me to do it” “I can only please one person each day …TODAY IS NOT YOUR DAY! Tomorrow isn’t looking good either” “I used up all my sick days so I called in dead”.
*T-C’s*- these are the female versions of the t-shirts above. They come in different colours, such as pink, blue, white etc. They are fitted t-shirts and come in sizes S, M and L, priced at £15.95. Examples of these are: “To save time, let’s just assume that I know everything” “All this..and brains” “You’re jealous ‘cause the little voices are talking to me”
*Blink*- these are stretchy fitted ladies tops, which are covered in a huge graphic. They are great fun but not if you’re a mainly black type of person! I bought my partner one of these with koi carp (fish) all over it, she LOVES it. The range includes a top with a cat, two with flowers, one with koi carp or some dragon tattoo type designs. They come in S and M and are £16.95
*Windy sisters*- these are t-shirts styled for everyone, there is a huge range, even for pregnant women! They are all priced from £8.95 to £15.95 depending on the size and type. Examples are: “Id I’d known having grandchildren was so fun I’d have had them first” “This person needs a sunny spot and an occasional drink” “Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world!” “Sometimes I think life would be easier if I weren’t so talented”
*Simon Drew*- These t-shirts all have pictures on them with related text, they are supposed to be comical but personally I don’t like them. They are the only ones in the catalogue that I don’t like. They come in sizes M, L and XL and are priced at £16.95. Examples: “Prawn to be wild” with a picture of a prawn on a motorbike “Moled Wine” with a picture of a mole in a wine glass
*Mixed Bag*- There are a few t-shirts in the mixed bag, all individually priced and sized. An example: “667 neighbour of the beast”
*AlphaT*- I’m sure you’ve all seen these t-shirts about by now, they are the ones with Velcro on the front with a bag of letters to stick on, so that you can make your own caption. They come in different shapes, such as ladies fitted, childs, and mens sizes. Priced from £14.95-£19.95.
*Retro*- this is a hug range, containing all your favourite characters, from miffy to Betty boop, Miami vice to superman, even the clangers! They are all £14.95.
*Bang on the door*- all teenage girls will have owned something by bang in the door at some point. They all have a picture of a girl dressed up as, for example, a drama queen, pop princess, sporty girl etc to find one to suit! They aren’t particularly original, but always popular. They are £11.50
*Various children’s t-shirts*- there is a whole section dedicated to kids t-shirts, such as Thomas the tank engine, maisy, Paddington bear, the tweenies etc. There are also some sweatshirts with the captions: “0 to naughty in 6 seconds” “I didn’t ask to be a princess but if the crown fits”
There is also a special price page at the back with a huge selection!
I have ordered from the catalogue, with the simple order form inside. You have to supply your name, address, method of payment, the items you wish to order and a delivery address if different. The only thing I didn’t like about ordering from this catalogue is that you have to send a cheque or card details with the order, rather than paying for it afterwards. But I have found no problem with this. I paid by credit card, and they didn’t take the money out until 7 days after my delivery, so I was pleased. I got the t-shirt delivered 5 days after I had ordered it, which is a while in comparison to major catalogues, but I was in no rush for it at the time. There is a postage and packing charge of £2.50 per order, which is a bit steep, but worth it for the uniqueness of some of the t-shirts! I have also ordered from the catalogues website, www.rosienieper.co.uk. This is just as simple, and the t-shirt came within 3 days! On the home page there is a list of all the different t-shirt ranges, so if you have taken a fancy to any of the t-shirts I have mentioned, then you can look it up :).
To order a catalogue, go on the website above, then click ‘catalogue’ at the top of the page. Alternatively give them a ring on 0845 070 4567. Or email them on shopping@rosienieper.co.uk. The address if you want to contact them that way is 8 Princes Works, Princes Road, Teddington, TW11 ORW.
I have found this catalogue fantastic, the t-shirts are great, the delivery is always on time and the quality of clothes when they arrive can’t be faulted. If you want to return them you can, they enclose a returns label, for you to send back with your local carrier (as with all catalogues). The only thing I would fault them about is that the Blink t-shirt I ordered for my partner is hand cold wash only. They should state this in the catalogue. Other than that I would recommend the catalogue AND website to anyone who can’t think of a present for someone.
Thanks for reading and sorry it is so long! Lisa :)
Advantages: An excellent choice of witty, original designs Disadvantages: slightly expensive
...different but fun! then try Rosie Nieper t-shirts, where there are hundreds of original, witty designs available for the whole family.
It is a small company that produces a catalogur 3-4 times a year. The catalogue has excellent descriptions and advice on what to buy with full colour photos.
They are all designesd by a variety of artists who each have their own slant on life
Amongst the different varieties are:
Bang on the door designs
t-shirts ... ...feminists
t-shirts for sexists
t-shirts with words
t-shirts with pictures
t-shirts for people who love cats
t-shirts for IT freaks
All the t-shirts come in a variety of sizes and you dont have to be a size 10 to fit them
Undoutably their best are those designed for kids, with titles such as 'Little Rascal', 'Drama queen'and 'Incey wincey spider'amongst the many available.
They are slightly more expensive than you would pay in a chain store ...
