DG834 Netgear Router
Review of NETGEAR RangeMax Next Wireless ADSL2+ Modem Router DG834N - wireless router by sablab

Advantages: Good Security
Disadvantages: Bad Reliability

NETGEAR ROUTER DG834N + WN121T ADAPTER The company I work for, which will remain nameless, bought a small amount of these routers at Christmas; just about everybody in the company has had a problem, mainly with the wireless connection failing intermittently or no wireless connection at all. Now the companies IT department has just received a new batch directly from Netgear, my new replacement router lasted 4 days, now it keeps losing wireless connection ...
...from this model DG834N The DG834GT router I had before this one, had no problem at all I have installed the DG834, DG834G and DG834GT for family and friends and have always liked the Netgear routers until now; it's very possible they have design problem with the DG834N model? ... Read review

is the Belkin N1 worth the extra cash
Review of Belkin N1 Wireless Modem Router - wireless router by regmigrant

Advantages: Extended range, capable of streaming HD video (mostly)
Disadvantages: Susceptible to interference, needs matching adapters

...to losing connections than other Belkin routers I've used - any local microwave, dect phone, or next doors wireless router can bring your connection down and though reconnection is usually instant it does occasionally require a reboot of the pc or the router (or both). Overall i don't think its worth the price premium over others in the range unless the additional signal strength and distant is vital to your requirements. Its certainly not something ... Netgear WPN824 Wireless router
Review of NETGEAR WPN824 RangeMax Wireless Router - wireless router by fbxiii

Advantages: Wireless and Wired connections, easy to install
Disadvantages: Blue ring of light can be annoying, but can also be turned off!

...my Belkin router for the Netgear WPN824 as I was experiencing regular disconnections with my Belkin and found their customer support was not very good. I opted for the Netgear after various recommendations from friends and reading the reviews on ciao. The Netgear has a nice sleek, modern looking design and has a ring of Blue LEDs on the top that flash/rotate when connected wirelessly. Personally, I find these be a little annoying at night because ...
...IP address for the router. A nice user friendly interface is displayed for changing the setup of the router. All in all, this router far outways the Belkin, I have not had to use Netgear support but from my experience with Belkin, I would hope it is better. ... Read review

Basic but reliable
Review of Belkin High-Speed Mode Wireless G Router wireless router by orrin31

Advantages: Straightforward, easy to setup
Disadvantages: Admin is slow, manual is too technical

...others. I decided on the Belkin High-Speed Mode Wireless G Router. At the time, it cost me quite a lot of money but it was important that it did everything the old one did; 4 wired ports (I have 2 computers, lucky-old-me), wireless (for my laptop and kids computer) and a good firewall. The wireless feature must have a good 50m range (inside the house) with WPA with pre-shared key (PSK) encryption. Some technical information you might find useful: ...
...the review. I ordered the Belkin router and waited for it to arrive. It was very easy to setup, just like most routers these days. Plug the cables in and switch it on. It has a DCHP server, which means it will give your computer an IP address automatically and allows it to connect to the router and any other computers linked directly to the router, or even printers etc. The lights at the front tell you if you’re connected to the router itself and ... Sexy Router that defines wireless networking!
Review of NETGEAR DG834GT 108 Mbps Super G Wireless ADSL Router - wireless router by TheTechGuy0

Advantages: Excellent wireless range and excellent features.
Disadvantages: No wall mount.

...until you realise that only netgear adapters work , and when they do they don't work very well. I thing i could also say is that the router is very attractive and looks sexy on yor desk, until you realsie that the same isn't possible on your wall. Like all Netgear routers, actually most i'd say that this router is very reliable and the wireless range is excellent for a "802.11g". When i had my old D-Link router i got 2 bars in WWU, but now i get ... Read review
