Good overall product

Advantages: Easy setup, connection right out of the box
Disadvantages: no paper documentation

I purchased this item from a large computer store, and I have had absolutely no problems with the operation or configuration of this device. I have a small three computer network LAN, and I have cable internet access. I primarily use this router to connect to the internet, but I also use it to connect with the other computers on the network. this device functions well as a firewall, and it allows configuration of the ports, as well as VPN, and DHCP. ...

Business class Router

Advantages: Fast, Secure and Efficient Internet Connection
Disadvantages: High level of Technical Expertise needed to setup more advanced features

The Cisco 800 Series Routers provide a solution for high speed, secure and above all reliable Internet connection. The 857 model is specifically designed for connecting small office / home office (Soho) networks to the Internet via ADSL (asymmetric digital subscriber line) or "Broadband" technologies. For those of you who know little of Broadband (ADSL), it is a new technology that allows more data to be sent over existing copper telephone lines ...

Great Multimedia Wireless Router from Belkin

Advantages: Reliable, Fast, Easy to configure, Lots of features, USB for sharing drives
Disadvantages: Bit expensive, Not full speed with every machine

INTRO The Belkin N+ router is one of the higher end (consumer) wireless modem router offerings from Belkin. It cost me £85 from PC World, but can probably be found for a bit less if you shop online. The Cable version costs a little less. Reason I bought this one was because two PCs in the house with wireless cards kept losing the wireless connection when I was using a Linksys router (my own PCs / laptops were fine though!). I replaced that with ...
...the performance of that cheaper Belkin router, I decided to stick with Belkin and get this one! DESIGN The router looks very stylish and stands up tall rather than laid down flat. It doesn’t appear to have been designed to be laid down flat like many other routers, which may be to maximise signal strength by standing it taller. It has two antenna sticking out at the top which can be adjusted and it’s got loads of LED lights which light up icons ...

Orange Livebox, how does it measure up.

Advantages: small and stylish
Disadvantages: slow, unreliable.

Right, where to start. For a wireless router it is not really the best. I have had it about 6-7 months and to be honest I have used better but as it is part of my broadband service I don't have much choice. It does work on the whole but it is not the most reliable one out there. It quite offten loses the will to live and will stop connecting to my laptop via wireless and the only way to sort it is to get the non UK call centre to sort it out. On ...
