Philips Router
Review of Philips Wireless Router SNB5600 - wireless router by
UrbanKaos
Advantages: Ease of installation
Disadvantages: Poor authentication options, downloads fail.
...all over again.
The philips support site is OK, but the search facility is useless. I had to use Google to find what I was looking for on the philips website.
Overall, a nice looking bit of kit, but for more functionality within the same price range go for a Zyxel DSL / ADSL router which has the USB wireless dongle, more authentication types and excellent wireless coverage. Additionally you get a lot more useful tools for the more proficient user ...

New Yes, Better... In a Pig's Eye
Review of BT Home Hub v2.0 by
sghawken
Advantages: It looks nice, more subtle in most surroundings
Disadvantages: Signal, reliability, compatability
When this summer BT launched their new version 2 Home Hub in stylish black the world, well BT Internet users were fairly excited. Not only was the new hub in a much desired colour, it boasted better reliability and twice the transmission distance of the original hub, to highlight this distance BT launched a new series of adverts featuring My Family actor Kris Marshall (fresh from a very nasty accident) experiencing the pain of distance separating ... ...was able to connect my BT Vision box, Desktop Computer, Bluray player, and XBOX 360 directly to the hub via the Ethernet connections, and still enjoy the wonder of the wireless to one of three laptops in the house, as well as my iPod. This joy was soon over shadowed by a very dark cloud, more on this later.
The hub features the new version of the Hub Phone, with this you can set up a separate phone line (free providing you don't make any calls) ...

Very good router
Review of Buffalo Wireless-G MIMO Performance Router with DD-WRT - wireless router by
gothicbob
Advantages: Price, Prefomance, Ease of use
Disadvantages: None that I can think of
This buffalo router is by far one of the highest preforming routers that I have ever purchased. The router has everything that you would come to expect from a normal router plus the advantage of dd-wrt.
For people who don't know what dd-wrt is, I'll give a brief overview for more in-depth information please visit the dd-wrt website. dd-wrt is an alternative operating system for routers built on the stable, secure, and advanced linux OS. What this ... ...few, there are way to many to list here.
Overall I would highly recommend buffalo routers as I have had nothing but success with them, I would also recommend dd-wrt as it gives you the advanced options that allow relatively cheap routers preform as well as very expensive alternatives. ...

A good router, but it isn't worth £70.
Review of Belkin N1 Wireless Modem Router - wireless router by
calumneilson
Advantages: Easy setup, quite a few features, web based control panel
Disadvantages: Expensive, a little unreliable
...was easily solved by the Belkin Support team.
You can easily manage this router using the web based control panel. From the control panel you can change all the settings as well as reboot or update the router software.
The router can be a bit unreliable, at times it goes very slow or drops the wireless connection, but the majority of the time it has a large and reliable wireless range.
It has a nice set of security features as well as draft n ...

Best Gear
Review of NETGEAR DG834G 54 Mbps Wireless ADSL Firewall Router - wireless router by
AlastairI
Advantages: wireless, stable, secure
Disadvantages: none
There's not a great deal to say on this product as it does absolutely everything you would expect it to. I currently have this wireless router installed to transmit Virgin Media Broadband through the house.
I have to say it's fantastic! The set up was fast and efficient, all the accessories plugged in and worked and I've had no problems at all. The signal is not the strongest but certainly more than enough if you're in any room of the house to receive ...
