crap
Review of Router by stupid50

Advantages: there is no advantage to product that does not work and is not supported
Disadvantages: does not work therffore it could considered a waste of money buy something else

This is the worst product I have ever bought without a doubt. I think the company even blocked my access to the specific driver I needed that would possibly make the product work. I m not kidding. there is a clause saying if you buy the product in one country you can not get international support. to bad if you are running an international company. the question is will they learn or more imporatntn do they care. I don't think so. What makes ... Read review

BT Home-Hub v2.0
Review of BT Home Hub v2.0 by chloeisa

Advantages: Looks good, comes with a good deal from BT [broadband option 3].
Disadvantages: Poor wireless signal, not compatible with printers.

The BT Home-Hub v2.0 may look chic and stylish in comparison to previous models, but personally I have not noticed any beneficial differences between the v2.0 and the v1.0. Despite numerous claims that the wireless signal is 'twice as strong as other wireless providers', I have no reason whatsoever to endorse this. In my medium sized flat, I only receive good, stable signal in the rooms adjacent to the Hub, and in other rooms the signal repeatedly ...
...the many various connections which it boasts, including 4 ethernet connections and a USB socket. All previous versions of the home-hub have had the capability to connect a printer to the hub and therefore print documents wirelessly from anywhere in your home or garden. Unfortunately this is not possible with the v2.0. The hub-phone which is included luckily has better signal than the wireless and therefore there are no problems with the phone-line ... Read review

Netgear DG834G
Review of NETGEAR DG834G 54 Mbps Wireless ADSL Firewall Router - wireless router by lallofrall

Advantages: Great Signal Strength, Multiuse, Easy To Use
Disadvantages: Installation

Ahhh the netgear DG834G, my first router and still my current router! I have had this router for over 2 years now and it works fine still! The hardest part ever whilst using it was the installation! We actually had to ask a computer programmer, our neighbour, to come round and install it for us! It was that confusing! Depending on where it is located, it gives different signal strenghts, sometimes i dont get signal in my bedroom; but if i move the ...
...can also be due to electronic interference! The connection speed is great with a maximum speed of 54 Megabytes Per Second, which is a great speed for my needs! It connects all the phones, playstations and laptops in our house without trouble so it is good enough for me!!! So if you are a first time router purchaser, this one is great!! ... Read review

The most cost effective router "routed out"
Review of NETGEAR WGR614 54 Mbps Wireless Router - wireless router by becktheone

Advantages: Affordable and reliable
Disadvantages: Difficult to set up

...purchase was the "starter kit" Netgear WGR614 Cable/DSL 54 Mbps Wireless Router, from Argos. I paid £56.99 for it as of early August 2008. Note that I did not buy the router on its own; Argos offered in this starter kit a USB adapter or "dongle" as I shall refer to it from now on. This is essential for setting up a wireless network, as it allows the router to send information from your modem to the computer you are trying to get internet on. Most ...
...so do not need one of these. Desktops however will usually need a dongle. Argos listed the specifications as follows: * Starter kit including a wireless 54Mbps cable router and USB adapter. * Speed 54Mbps. * Range 100m (speed and range indication will vary due to environmental and other factors). * Built-in firewall. * WEP and WPA security built-in. * 1 external antenna. * Compatible with 802.11b/g wireless standards. * 4 Ethernet ports. ... Speedtouch 516v6
Review of Thomson SpeedTouch 516v6 - router by hinton46

Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Unreliable

Cab I say that I'm not a big fan of these routers! However, they are good solid performers if you want a cheap router thats fairly easy to configure. I have had problems with them when uploading templates from time to time, which has ended up completed knackering the router and I've ended up with a rather useless paperweight. I particually find the menu layout very poor, unlike 90% of routers where u can easily find what your after with this you ... Read review
