It tastes yummy if you're a rug rat
Advantages: Fast, good range, powerful, not too expensive for what you get Disadvantages: none so far
This is a wireless network router whih you can use with either a cable modem or a DSL modem. I've owned mine for ages - it orginally cost me £76 and, though that's quite a lot compared to some routers, this one is really powerful and I guess you get what you pay for. This router doesn't come with a modem, as with most of them, but, like the majority of ISPs I suspect, mine supplied me with one as part of the subscription. The signal is perfect all ... ...bars out of five on the display on my laptop. This is despite the fact that the router is unhelpfully located in the study which seemd logical but is in fact right at one end of the house, so it's impressive that we are still getting signal right at the other end above the garage. The router is very fast too; I'm really pleased with as well: I can download a half-hour TV programme from 4OD in about a minute, and my teenage son can play on-line games ...

Good value router
Advantages: good signal. great value Disadvantages: can be difficult to set up
I bought this wireless router in December to not only remove all of the cables in the living room but to share the connection on 2 laptops. The initial set up of the router caused a few problems and eventually had to set everything up manually, I found the user guide from the dlink website very helpful with sorting out the set up problems although this does give step by step instructions for various problems, I feel it is not suitable for people ... ...up, I have had few further problems with this product. The signal is good throughout the house and only very occasionally drops connection, although I believe this was due to the initial positioning of the router and since moving it sllightly the router has not dropped connection. The router comes with a stand to place it in a vertical position or can be laid horizontally, it also has an adjustable anntenae making it easy to place out of sight. I ...

"This D-Link has ceased to be, it is an ex-router"
Advantages: Easy to physically install Disadvantages: Short working life, loses settings regularly
...had to go to the D-Link website and guess my way through another set of ambiguous questions. Three times in total. The site was neither intuitive or helpful in any other way. But now at least I had a working wireless access point/router. Woo hoo!
I installed the antennae on my daughter's PC with no probs. Thank heavens for small mercies. I managed to access the net on her PC and also my notebook. Problem is that over the next few months, I had to ... ...aren't even that will have no chance of getting this product of the ground. In short, save your dosh and buy any brand except D-Link...
And I will shortly be sending the D-Link router on a blind date with a large lump hammer I keep in my shed... ...

Great Multimedia Wireless Router from Belkin
Advantages: Reliable, Fast, Easy to configure, Lots of features, USB for sharing drives Disadvantages: Bit expensive, Not full speed with every machine
INTRO The Belkin N+ router is one of the higher end (consumer) wireless modem router offerings from Belkin. It cost me £85 from PC World, but can probably be found for a bit less if you shop online. The Cable version costs a little less. Reason I bought this one was because two PCs in the house with wireless cards kept losing the wireless connection when I was using a Linksys router (my own PCs / laptops were fine though!). I replaced that with ... ...the performance of that cheaper Belkin router, I decided to stick with Belkin and get this one! DESIGN The router looks very stylish and stands up tall rather than laid down flat. It doesn’t appear to have been designed to be laid down flat like many other routers, which may be to maximise signal strength by standing it taller. It has two antenna sticking out at the top which can be adjusted and it’s got loads of LED lights which light up icons ...
