Great Multimedia Wireless Router from Belkin
Advantages: Reliable, Fast, Easy to configure, Lots of features, USB for sharing drives Disadvantages: Bit expensive, Not full speed with every machine
INTRO The Belkin N+ router is one of the higher end (consumer) wireless modem router offerings from Belkin. It cost me £85 from PC World, but can probably be found for a bit less if you shop online. The Cable version costs a little less. Reason I bought this one was because two PCs in the house with wireless cards kept losing the wireless connection when I was using a Linksys router (my own PCs / laptops were fine though!). I replaced that with ... ...the performance of that cheaper Belkin router, I decided to stick with Belkin and get this one! DESIGN The router looks very stylish and stands up tall rather than laid down flat. It doesn’t appear to have been designed to be laid down flat like many other routers, which may be to maximise signal strength by standing it taller. It has two antenna sticking out at the top which can be adjusted and it’s got loads of LED lights which light up icons ...

Orange Livebox, how does it measure up.
Advantages: small and stylish Disadvantages: slow, unreliable.
Right, where to start. For a wireless router it is not really the best. I have had it about 6-7 months and to be honest I have used better but as it is part of my broadband service I don't have much choice.
It does work on the whole but it is not the most reliable one out there. It quite offten loses the will to live and will stop connecting to my laptop via wireless and the only way to sort it is to get the non UK call centre to sort it out.
On ...

Good Range, Great Value
Advantages: Good range Disadvantages: Advanced set up screen- not for complete novice
I've had this router for some time now and I have to say, apart from the slightly advanced set up screen, the speed and range is excellent. When you first set the router up you have to go into a browser based log in screen which enables you to enter your ISP user name and password. You must also select the appropriate connection type and although I found this relatively straight forward being a seasoned pc user I do know that people such as my grandparents ...

Speed Up
Advantages: Quick installation and easy to use features Disadvantages: No password means you will be hacked
This review is for the Belkin N1 Wireless Router. Now some people might not know fully what a router is and its purpose. A router is a networking device which allows multiple users to be able to access the same thing at the same time. For example you want to use the internet and inside your home if you have a broadband connection and you are connected via a wire to the modem. If you wanted to go wireless then you could connect all the computers in ... ...by a big brand in Belkin who are well known for providing excellent wireless products.
The device is easy to install and set up and even though you might feel it is not safe if you provide a password and a good network name you will be safe and sound. A device which lets you access the internet with a quicker connection and tells you why the internet is not working surely cannot be a bad thing to use at all. The price for this item varies everywhere ...

Linksys's Lightning fast wireless router
Advantages: Fast speeds, Reliable, Stylish Disadvantages: I had wireless problems, Gets a bit warm, no restart router option in config
The Linksys WAG160N N300 is an ADSL2+ wireless modem router, meaning it has a a modem built in. It is for use with BT Internet connections rather than for use with a Cable broadband connection (i.e. Virgin) although a Cable version is also available. It’s an ADSL2 router, which means it supports the newer ADSL standard, which could mean faster transfer speeds although this really depends on your line quality, distance from Exchange, service with ... ...N RangeMax USB dongle, a Linksys Wireless N USB dongle and even a Negear PCI 54G wireless card. The machines are only about 7 metres from the router with just one wall with a window so not sure why. Interference en-route? Switching to a Belkin wireless router resolved the problem so I’m suspecting the Belkin performs better than the Linksys, which is a shame for the Linksys. On a brighter note, the wireless connection on my PC when I was using the ...
