We have owned a Rover 75 diesel for nearly 5 years.
In my opinion, it has been one of the most reliable cars that I have had the pleasure of owning. It has comfort, luxury, style and reliability of more expensive manufacturers.
I have had the alternator pack up, needed a new battery and very little else. The air bag light has also come on.
I did have to change the cam sensor as well but for a car that has done 165,000 miles and still going strong and that has been the only things.
When I bought the car, it went fine but a little slow. I bought a tuning box from Ebay and it transformed the car from a good car to a better car. I don't know why Rover didn't do that in the first place when they made it.
I am selling the car but only to replace it with a later model.

After five years use, I think that this review could have been a lot more useful with some running costs - mpg, tyre wear, oil consumption insurance costs atc. The 75 was a great and largely under-rated product, pity it was Rover's last. R.
