It isn't a guaranteed courier service, don't think of it as such.

AdvantagesCheaper than a courier, easier to post, priority handling (within the UK, at least)

DisadvantagesTracking isn't detailed, no guaranteed delivery times.

"...one of the three services Royal Mail offers for sending post internationally; the other two are International Signed-For and Airmail. The key features of Airsure are that it is given priority handling within the UK, making it generally somewhat quicker than the other services, and the post can be tracked. Contrastingly, Airmail does not allow for tracking and is treated as regular mail, therefore its expected delivery is typically later than Airsure. ..." Read review

Completely unreliable, false and should be investigated...

AdvantagesNo advantages at all

DisadvantagesPackages are not tracked and consequently lost. Client service is pathetic.

"...delivered. After having spoken to Royal Mail, I am of the opinion that they washed their hands of the matter the second that the package left the UK, somewhat worrying considering that they claim to track everything all the way. So here I am, after 4 months of careful travel preparation for a 3 month journey and having sent for my visas well in advance, waiting for an invisible Airsure "tracked" package. which could cost me the entire trip. I have ..." Read review

Quick review of Royal Mail Airsure

"My advice - don't use this service - pay a premium and use something like DHL, UPS, FEDEX. Needed an item to get to the US fairly quickly and checked the Royal mail website - Airsure recommended with 4/5 day delivery and online tracking - Sounds good. Delivery took 12 days! Online tracking consists of (I paraphrase) - "we have received your package" (I know I gave it to you) - "Your package is on its way to the overseas country" - "your package has been passed to the overseas postal service for delivery" AND THAT'S IT, THAT'S ALL YOU GET. The package was delivered on 21st July and the online tracking is still showing the last message 10 days later. Absolute rubbish service - don't bother.

...Better use it when do not need it

Advantagesparcels leaving on weekends

Disadvantagesmisleading information, customer service, unreliable

"...second day onward, on the Royal Mail website the parcel appeared as delivered to the overseas postal service while nothing actually entered into the country for one week! I found this annoying people from the postal service in the airport. Trying to contact the customer service I was told the same information every day as if the parcel was lost or stuck. The tracking system "worked" until the parcel left the country. In two cases, even if I was making ..." Read review
