Hello everyone and welcome to this review.
I know many people may not agree with this review.... But I shall give my own opinion on this Royal Mail service.
Ahh well.... EBAY! THE JOYS OF IT:) People claim their money back with a few clicks of a button if """Their product does not arrive""! So special and recorded delivery is a must for me and many other sellers.
Now... Too be honest Royal Mail is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. Whether my items are not delivered on time.. Arrive soaking wet.. Arrive smashed up.. OR NEVER ARRIVE AT ALL! I still have to deal with them because they are the only postal service in my area. One the postman knocked on my door. In his hand was a parcel (FLAT!) i had order a vase, I thought maybe it was a catalogue --- it couldn't possibly be my round vase?? When I opened it my vase was in pieces. So many I could not count. The parcel was super well wrapped but had tyre marks over the top! Obviously run over. Most likely on purpose.... How on earth could you run over a round big padded parcel??
Special delivery is mainly used for sending items of over a 36 Pound value.. It protects the buyer of up to 500 pounds of value if the item goes missing or your money back for postage if it does not arrive by 1pm the next day.
Now I must say that they always deliver the special delivery items in a resonable time, but as for the coverage of 500 pounds on your item. Royal mail will not admit that the parcel is lost until 28 days after posting they told me! Its rediculous that you pay over 6 Pounds to post a parcel gauranteed by the next day and they can somehow allow 28?? Ofcouse you can count the weekend but that is just the sunday.. No excuse.
They lost my brand New phone purchased from ebay. The seller has sent me the proof of postage etc so I know its not his fault. I now have to wait and find out what happens. Their customer service is just absolutely terrible. I have never been treated so bad by a company and I really wish I could stop using the company.

Advantages: Packages upto 5kg next day /double money back. Tracking on EVERY PARCEL. Disadvantages: Not many depots so people have problems receiving goods.
