Rugby 2006 was the first time I had played this game either on a gamestation or in real life so I must admit my limited knowledge of the rules was a bit of a disadvantage at first however the game does feature a master class on the rules which was very helpful.

The conrols are pretty easy to master however one annoying feature of the training mode is that the camera angle is fixed to a sidline view which makes practicing your skill a litte harder, the end to end view that is available in the game mode would be useful here as well.

There are nine tornaments to play in with al of the international teams featured as well as the premiership sides and there is enough variety in the game to maintain interest.
Visually it is good with nice player movement and impressive stadiums. There are a couple of problems with kicks seeming to accelerate into opposition players hands at some times as if on a piece of elastic and at times on the easier levels the defensive players for the computer seem content running alongside your player rather than making a tackle.
The game on the easy level is just that, easy however the harder levels do represent a higher level of challenge.
Definately worth checking out and is good value at £12.95 on Amazon.
