Hi I'm Liz from Dorset, I also write reviews on Dooyoo under the same name. I try and be honest with my reviews and love reading reviews by others on here. Let me know if there's anything you'd think I should look at.

Have you ever toyed with the idea of taking up running or jogging but didnt really know how to get started or needed some motivation to get you off the sofa? a year ago that was me, I was looking for a form of exercise that didnt involve the gym and that I could do anytime I wanted, jogging seemed perfect but how do I go about it?
Yes ok I hear you snigger, jogging is easy, you get your trainers on and get your arse outside and run. Simple. Er no it isnt as I remember from my school days how knackered and fed up I used to get from cross country runs in the summer, I would always start off too fast and end up collapsed in a heap half way round. Not good.
Fast forward 15 years and I spotted an ad for a book called Running made Easy in a magazine, hmmm I thought that could be the book I need, An idiots guide to running in plain English that a couch potato such as myself could easily digest and understand.
The book is laid out in easy to follow sections starting off with the basics all the way through to Marathon running (just in case you're brave or mental enough!) clear advise on choosing the right trainers and clothing is very useful as well as tips on healthy eating and how not to get carried away.
I started out by following what they call the walk/run programme which is designed to get you fit enough to be able to get around a 5km (3.1mile) race or course in 10 weeks, all the book asks on your first day is that you jog for 60 seconds and the rest will soon follow if you follow the plan consistently and to the letter. I did and after a couple of months I was able to run for a good 20 minutes at a time and I lost 7lb into the bargain.
Now that the cold weather has set in I've let things go a little bit but I know I can go back to the book and follow the advise to get me running again pain free and without injury.
This book costs less than a tenner and for that money is a fantastic tool to help you get fitter and more active, its cheaper and more fun than the gym and you get to look daft in lycra too!
Contains a beginner's plan, fill-in charts and diary sections, and tips and advice needed ... more
to learn to love running. This book includes stories and tips from regular and celebrity runners, and chapters on goal setting and mind games to get readers back on track.
