The Russel Hobbs Retro toaster is one piece of equipment you need to consider if you are upgrading your kitchen. It is a piece of modern technology worth considering for your Christmas shopping list.
I bought mine for £24.99 at Woolworths.
It comes in a large box with a picture of the 2 slice toaster. When you open the box there is also an instruction booklet. The booklet is very clear and concise and lists about 12 things you should not do with your toaster on the 1st page. This is the best health and safety guidline I have yet found in any purchase.
The toaster has 4 buttons and 1 lever to set the type of toast. There are 6 settings for the toast. The last is black and burnt (I do not know why they do this as knowone ever uses it). There is an eject button if you need to cancel the toast prematurely. I find this very handy and it is a feature that has long been needed in toasters. There is a button for toasting frozen bread. Be careful with this as it toasts your bread for a longer period of time to take into account that it is frozen. The reheat button allows you to reheat your toast wwith a brief burst of energy. Finally there is a button for toasting bagels. This toasts only the outside of the bagel or you can have 1 sided toast if you like.
I have had it for a few weeks and it has made a huge difference to my eating habits. The bagels are very tasty. You can get ones with rasins and sweet ones. The instruction manual gives guidlines on toasting these. For sweet bread you need to toast lightly on the first one or two toaster settings.
There is a pull out crumb tray to keep your toaster nice and clean . There is also good advice in the manual on how to use it. Happy toasting.
