Advantages: COMPACT/NEAT, ADJUSTABLE SETTINGS/HANDLE, NICE PRICE! Disadvantages: VERY, VERY NOISY!!!

I have only had this a few days and reading the reviews after buying it i was somewhat apprehensive and a little disheartened...i decided to try it out anyway! 1st time i used it i loved it! It had a powerful suction (though somewhat noisy) and did a great job on some cornflakes which my son had dropped on the rug. Bearing in mind i only have 2 carpets and a rug and the rest is wood or vinyl flooring, i find it effective for this job, though it may be a different story if i had all carpets. For £40 i cannot complain...for £40 you cannot go wrong with this, i have seen better i have seen far worse and i have paid double for hoovers that had half the performance before now. It is easy to pull around and if you pull the lead all the way out BEFORE you begin and not during hoovering then the tight cord isn't an issue at all, i can live with it. The compact design and handle on top makes it easy to move around and store and it looks really neat and cute. It turns upright so that it can sit on the stairs while you hoover them and i really like the adjustable handle too...i'm only 5 foot so fount this really useful! It's sooo easy to use but It doesn't hold much before it needs emptying, but you know that when you buy it and it's your choice whether to buy it or not on that basis...if this is important to you, don't buy it. I am not interested in the technical jargon, i don't care if it has 200w or 2000w or HEPA or cyclone...i am not daft enough to believe that these are anymore than a clever sales pitch and i don't buy a hoover on that basis, all i care about is does it pick up all the bits off my floor and the answer is a resounding YES IT DOES. You get what you pay for at the end of the day...and i knew i wasn't paying for a dyson and i didn't get a dyson but i got a jolly good alternative on the budget i had and i'm not disappointed...for now anyway! Lets just say i've kept the reciept and box safe...just incase!
Advantages: Compact. Great on wood floors. Cheap. Easily manoeuverable. Disadvantages: Quite noisy. Not massively powerful. Could be better on carpets.
Having had the Russel Hobbs 13760 for 3 months, I can say without hesitation that for a vacuum that cost £45 (Curry's sale) this has totally surpassed expectations. We weren't expecting anything special and special it is not, but it is perfect for anybody who is looking for a compact machine that gets the job done.
The 13760 has two main vacuum settings; one for carpets and one for hard surfaces and, on the one hand, it is brilliant on vinyl or ... ...on carpeted floors. However, for our needs, which are to vacuum around a reasonably small house, which has an equal share of hard / carpeted floors, it sweeps up a treat.
You can alter the power of the vacuum, which the manual suggests you up to the max. every once in a while for a 'deep clean' effect. This seems to work pretty well. The suction of the vacuum does suffer slightly when the filter is getting full, again especially on carpets, but ...

Quick review of Russell Hobbs 13760 Cyclonic Cylinder
When I initially bought this vacuum thought it was brilliant. For about the first 3 uses it was. I was really impressed that it came with a spare filter but have since learned that this is because the filters block up really quickly and easily. On the first few uses the suction was excellent but no it leaves a lot to be desired and even when I have emptied the clylinder and cleaned the filter it loses suction. Was vacuuming last week,(after having the vacuum about 5 days and using it about 4 times), nothing heavy, just the bedroom, and the big brush end of the vacuum broke off! Now if I want to vacuum it's a case of hands and knees! Sorry for anyone who read my previous 5* review of this product, I wrote this on the first day of having the product, when it worked! Don;'t buy one. ...

Quick review of Russell Hobbs 13760 Cyclonic Cylinder
What a disappointment. Whoever designed this vacuum cleaner has a lot to answer for. The cable mechanism re-wind spring is so tight that it's virtually impossible to pull the vacuum along without having to manually pull out all the cable before you start. The greatest annoyance however is the fact that with the suction hose coming out of the top of the vacuum in the position it does unless you vacuum in a straight line it spends more time falling on its side than staying upright. I certainly would not recommend buying this product. ...

Quick review of Russell Hobbs 13760 Cyclonic Cylinder
Bad design - with the hose coming out of the top of the machine, it is a devil of a job keeping the vacuum upright. Fragile hose also - the plastic bits of the hose have broken off after only 6 months . Not recommended. ...
