...I have only recently purchased this kettle and i think it is one of the best kettles we have had. Russell Hobbs combines traditional styling with high tech performance in its classic range of stainless steel small appliances. I had been on the look out for a good new kettle at a reasonable price as we were in need of a new one, and my husband had recently redecorated our kitchen, so i wanted something that would fit in with our kitchen decor and also do a good job. My sister has had this kettle for a while now, and she recommended it to me, so i thought i would give it a try as Russell Hobbs is a well known brand. Advantages: Boils very quickly

...This is an extremely stylish kettle, which is why I bought it instead of my original choice (which was the Manhattan.) I was looking for something with a large lid, to make de-scaling easier and this model fitted the bill. Anyone who believes in going on their first instinct should learn from my mistake, because this kettle is a huge disappointment. Within the first few days the handle started to squeak every time the kettle was filled, something small and plastic fell out and could not be re-fitted the first time the kettle was emptied out, and within two months the chrome decoration on the lid is pitting. An e-mail sent to the manufacturers two weeks after purchase in September has so far has been ignored, which I think says it all as far as Russell Hobbs are concerned. Since ours came with very little kitchen essentials we had spent over a year cooking our toast under the grill. I know what you're thinking why spend so long before buying a toaster when you can pick one up from Tesco for around a fiver. The fact is we'd never thought we'd really need one and since we won some vouchers for comet we thought we'd splash out on a fancy brand name one. This toaster is pretty basic in fuction, it only holds two slices and works by pressing the lever down, you can adjust the power setting but only works if you set it before you press down the lever...
