Advantages: Does the job - safely and quickly Disadvantages: Slightly tricky to fill, ugly black lead and plug
I have owned this kettle for about a week. I bought it at Sainsbury's for £24.99 which seems a reasonable price in this day and age.
The kettle and base are an attractive brushed stainless steel finish with black plastic handle and trim. Very stylish. There is a steel mesh filter which can be removed for the occasional clean-up and de-scaling. It has a 1.7 litre capacity which seems typical. This is about 3 pints in old money. It has ... ...not removable; it pops up by pressing a button at the top of the handle. The lead is fixed and the free length can be varied from 18-24 inches. However the lead and plug are both in unattractive black - I'm sure it would not have added anything to the cost to have a white lead and plug, in keeping with many kitchen decors. I was surprised to find that there was no user manual in the sealed box with the kettle.

It has a smooth, safe pouring spout. The lid is hinged and not removable; it pops up by pressing a button at the top of the handle. The lead is fixed and the free length can be varied from 18-24 inches. However the lead and plug are both in unattractive black - I'm sure it would not have added anything to the cost to have a white lead and plug, in keeping with many kitchen decors. It is not designed to be filled via the spout, that is too narrow to be convenient. It would also seem to be not designed to be filled via the lid because this, too, is a bit on the small side - however it is possible and easy once you get used to it. The on-off switch is illuminated, when on, by a ghastly blue light. I think this would be more in keeping with a teenager's hi-fi than something to live with in the kitchen for the life of the kettle.
The kettle takes 1 minute 28 seconds to boil a pint of water, and about 3 minutes 50 seconds to boil a full 1.7 litres. Both of these times include about a 5 second full boil when I thought that the automatic switch off was not going to work. These are quite good speeds and compare very favourably with traditional hob kettles.
Advantages: Stylish design and quick to boil. Quick to clean. Disadvantages: Your drinks taste quite chemically at first.
I bought this kettle yesterday and was very impressed with its aesthetics and efficiency.
This stylish kettle has a very chic design. It has a Satin stainless steel look, and is very contemporary in design and feel.
It is very smooth to touch, and the circular base allows it to rotate 360 degrees- unlike other kettles. This circular base makes this kettle ideal for both left and right handed users.
The base also has cord storage, which enables ... ...facility makes the product easy to store away.
It has a 1.7 litre capacity. The switch and level gauge illuminates when switched on. The switch is also very easy to use, and is an appropriate size to operate.
It is quite light in weight and not too big for your kitchen work top.
It has a push button on the handle with opens the lid. This is very easy to operate.
It is very quick to use, and takes approx. 2mins to boil enough water for two people.
