I had to buy a new kettle recently and saw this one for £19.99 and as it was a Russell Hobbs gave it a chance. It boils water quickly (from one cup to 1.7 litres), looks great with a brushed stainless steel finish that is also easy to clean. It is cordless and sits on a 360 degree rotating base, so it works for right or left handed people and doesn't have to be put back on exactly as you took it off. It also has an easy open lid (just push the button and up it pops) so is simple to fill and the on off switch is illuminated so you can see when its on. The thing I like most is that there is no outsine water level indicator, my previous kettle had one of these but it was useless as after around 6 months it filled with scale and could not be cleaned (no matter how many times I descaled the kettle). Well worth the money and I may go and buy another so when this one eventually gives out (hopefully not for a few years), I have a spare ready and waiting.
Having had to consign a kettle to the bin recently, after two trips to the fuse box, I think a little more info would be needed to make me consider this particular model over the Russell Hobbs model that was bought to replace the misbehaving device in the first place.

"outsine" water level? This has the makings of a good review, just requires the odd nip and tuck - let me know if you edit it and I'll happily re-rate. R.
