covering Bought from my local comet shop this russel hobbs toaster was a much needed appliance in our house. Since ours came with very little kitchen essentials we had spent over a year cooking our toast under the grill. I know what you're thinking why spend so long before buying a toaster when you can pick one up from Tesco for around a fiver. The fact is we'd never thought we'd really need one and since we won some vouchers for comet we thought we'd splash out on a fancy brand name one.
This toaster is pretty basic in fuction, it only holds two slices and works by pressing the lever down, you can adjust the power setting but only works if you set it before you press down the lever as the power number coresponds to how long it cooks for not how strong the bars heat up. Very useful feature as has defrost option if like me you like to buy reduced bread, freeze it and only use slice by slice as required.
The packaging it came is was pretty standard stuff: cardboard box, polystrene, bags and instructions. Although i don't think as much polystrene was required as was provided. I personally don't agree with damaging the environment with unnecessary packaging especially plastic based ones that take generations to decompose!

Nice little toaster and the best thing I like about it is the width of the slots, meaning i can toast thin, medium, toastie, super toastie bread as well as muffins, crumpets and fruit loaf! mmmmmmm...... all nice and buttery. Any way where was I.

Advantages: Good range of features Disadvantages: Soesn't toast too well
A few weeks ago, my grill broke down, and I needed a toaster to make toast in as I had been doing it in the grill up to then. So I popped out to my local Allders and looked around their range of products. I saw a nice silvery one that caught my eye.
The fact that it was 'Russell Hobbs' made me particularly happy because I already had one, but unfortunately the electrics had broken. But this was good, because the toaster I had kept - it was a wedding ... ...So I took the chrome toaster to the till.
After forking out my money - not much, only £35.99, I took it home. The kids - as all kids are - wanted to make toast. Now there's a surprise. So we got out some normal Kingsmill, which is usually great for bread - it's nice and soft and goes golden brown.
So we put the bread in the toast, set the temperatuse lever to half way, put the lever down and waited. We only waited about thirty seconds and a smell ...

Advantages: looks well and has many handy extras Disadvantages: a bugger to keep clean
Weve had our toaster six months it was bought as a wedding present and i find it to be one of the best ive used. It is very stylish looking as are most kitchen products today. With it being a stainless steel finish its a bit of bugger to keep clean but as it looks good when it is clean it doesnt bother me to much. The toaster is well made and quite surdy it has a thing called a toastec system which crisps the bread fast and keeps it moist on the ... ...you toast like bricks. It aso has two toastie racks which are good and give you perfect toasties everytime. i find the Mid cycle cancel button to be a very good feature as sometiems when youve clean it you can catch the heat setting dial and turn it up so this stops you from burning it. It also has a bun warming tray which i thought to be quite smart although i havent used it. Also another good thing is that you can make toast from frozen bread by ...

It has a removable crumb tray, so you don't have to turn the thing upside down and beat it with a wooden spoon every few weeks!
Also, the cancel button is extremely useful for the odd occasion when the wrong setting has been selected, and that unmistakeable smell of burnt toast emerges ...
