"One of best players in history of football"

Although I'm an Arsenal fan not a Manchester United fan I am a fan of Ryan Giggs because I think he has done so much for English football in the past 10 years or so while he has been in the first team for Manchester United. He has achieved so much that he is widely known as one of the best wingers in the history of the game and is very popular with many football fans.

Facts about him:
His full name: Ryan Joseph Giggs OBE
Date of Birth: 29th November 1973
Current Age: 34 years old
Where he is was born: Cardiff in Wales
How tall is he: 5ft11 inches
What position does he play in football? Left or right winger
When did he turn pro: on his 17th birthday in 1990
Current club: Manchester United
When did he join Manchester United? On his 14th birthday in 1987

His achievements with the club:
Gigg's became the first player to ever win the PFA Young Player of the Year Award consecutively in 1992 and 1993 which since then, Robbie Fowler and Wayne Rooney have also achieved.
He has won 10 FA Premier League winning medal's which makes him famous as one of the all time best wingers in the game.
Ryan holds the record for the highest amount of goal assists with a total of 289 assists in 535 appearances.
He also past Sir Bobby Charlton's record of 759 appearances for Manchester United and has become his club's all time best player with the most amount of appearances.
Ryan represented England at youth international level because he was attending a English school but then went on to represent his birth country, Wales at senior level. He was the youngest player to ever represent Wales but he has retired from international football on 2nd June 2007.
He was named in the Football League 100 legends then he was given an OBE in the Queen's 2007 birthday Honours List.

Other interesting facts about him:
He has played and scored in every season since the FA Premier League began.
His strengths were but maybe not so much now included his pace and his ability to dribble past opposing players.
He has never been sent off in a game whilst representing Manchester United and only sent off once whilst representing Wales and has a generally low yellow card record.
He has been the vice-captain of Manchester United since 2005.
He is the only player to have scored in twelve consecutive Champions League tournaments.

Team Honours:
No. of times he has won the Premier League: ten times between 1993 and 2008.
No. of times he has won the runner up medal for Premier League: three times in 1995, 1998 and 2006.
No. of times he has won the FA Cup: four times in 1994, 1996, 1999 and 2004.
No. of time he has been runner up in FA Cup: three times in 1995, 2005 and 2007.

FA Youth Cup: once in 1992

Football League Cup: twice in 1992 and 2006
Runner up in Football league Cup: twice in 1994 and 2003

FA Community Shield: six times between 1993 and 2007
Runner up in Community Shield: five times between 1998 and 2004

UEFA Champions League: twice in 1999 and 2008

UEFA Super Cup: once in 1991
Runner up in UEFA Super Cup: once in 1999

Intercontinental Cup: once in 1999

That long list of achievements with his club is the reason why he has become a very famous player and one of the all time greats to play for Manchester United, he has also won several individual honours, some of the best ones include:

He was a member of the PFA Team of the Year in six seasons between 1993 and 2007.
He won his OBE for his service to football.
Ryan made it into the PFA team of the century in 2007.

There is a long list of his individual achievements, however these are some of the main ones and he I think he is one of the best footballers to ever play the game. He may still improve on his achievements as he has announced that he will be continuing to play for Manchester United for one more season before he will eventually retire from the game as a player.

(Not sure if it's in the right category but there's no where else to put it and getting a product or anything new on this websites not easy)

The guy is eveything you would want a top sportman to be, flamboyant on the pitch and quiet and polite off it. Pity the review was in the wrong section, but I nod to your review of a top man.

Soho_Black does have a good point, I don't like rating OT - I'd prefer just not to rate. In the right category it would be a VH...Lissy
