SIIG's long-term business vision, comprehensive product line, effective marketing strategy and exceptional customer support have made SIIG the leading brand for computer add-on products. High-quality control standards are evident by one of the lowest defective return rates in the industry. PRODUCT FEATURES: Easily add FireWire 800 connectivity to ExpressCard equipped computers; Provides two FireWire 800 (one 9-pin & one 6-pin) ports for multiple device connections; Works with DV camcorders, FireWire hard disks, digital cameras, scanners, CD-RW/DVD drives, video game systems, and other audio/video devices.
Advantages: Just the cable I needed to connect my DV Camcorder to my PC Disadvantages: none- worked a treat
...Do you need to Edit your Digital Video Camcorder footage on your Personal Computer ? Then this IEEE 1394 cable will connect your DV camcorder to the FireWire port on your PC allowing fast transfer of your video movie to your Computer.
The cable just simply plugs into the relevant port on your DV Camcorder and the Firewire( IEEE 1394 ) Port on the PC.
Using your own PC DV editing software you can capture the video at fast rates to your hard drive where you can make you own home movies.!
If you Dont have a firewire port then get StarTech's PCI FireWirecard (Plug and Play installation) Look for it bundled with Ulead's great editing software.
I found this product ideal and was easy to use....

Advantages: 16 channels of good quality IO for not much money Disadvantages: Unbalanced analogue inputs/Need an ADAT interface to access full 16 channels
...The M-Audio Firewire 1814 manages to pack a lot of inputs and outputs into a relatively inexpensivepiece of gear. If you need lots of inputs and outputs and you're on a budget this could be the audio interface for you.

The other analogue inputs are unbalanced TS inputs at line level, which can be a problem with ground loop noise particularly if you are going to use this with a laptop.
The other 8 inputs and outputs are via optical cable and ADAT. I had no problem connecting a Behringer ADA 800 to give me the full 16 inputs and it all synced very well. For the money you'll be hard pressed to find something that gives you as much IO. If you can afford to stretch the budget...

Advantages: Great surfing experience, nice screen Disadvantages: Shame it does not make phone calls like a regular mobile phone
...say is really high gloss, so reflections are not really a problem. Brightness is adjusted via and on-screen slider, and for most of my tests and use I found the setting to be good around the halfway mark.
The back of the unit has a cover that comes off nice and easily, underneath this you install the battery, and there is also room for one SD memory card, which can be up to 2GB in size. Also around the back is the stand, which when not in use fits nice and flush to the unit. Lifting the stand out also reveals the second memory card slot, which again is for an SD card up to 2GB, so the N800 supports a total of 4GB which is pretty impressive. During our tests we used Secure Digital cards supplied by Transcend UK (more on this later). Notice that I did not mention a sim card slot, well this N800 is no mobile phone, which would have made this...
