American express platinum cashback card.

Advantages: Receive cashback on everyday purchases
Disadvantages: Not accepted everywhere.

I applied for the american express platinum card mainly being because of the initial offer of the 5% cash back for the first three months. after the three months it then goes to 1.5% which is alright when compared to other cashback cards on the market at the moment. I use my american express basically like a debit card and always always pay it off in full so you can benefit from the cashback. Cashback is paid annually from the date you got accepted for the card which is good because it builds up and you get a nice chunk back (depending on how much you spent on the card). You can only be accepted for an american express platinum card if you are earning atleast £20,000 per annum. American express is actually accepted in more places now than people may think so there are a lot more chances for you to be earning that lovely ...

Review of American Express Credit Card

American Express Platinum charge card

Advantages: Travel insurance, priority pass membership, accelarated hotel status and more!
Disadvantages: Limited acceptance within the UK, although this is improving.

After having had an American Express (AMEX) credit card I was more than happy with the level of service I had been receiving and decided to make the move to their Platinum charge card. The card comes with an annual fee of £300 and includes a whole host of benefits, including comprehensive travel insurance for you, your children, additional Platinum cardholder and 5 supplementary cardholders, (gold or green) and their children up to age 18. The travel insurance includes travel inconvenience cover, which provides you with £150 should your departure be delayed by more than 4 hours, including missed connections, the same amount is payable should your baggage be delayed more than 4 hours, and the same amount again after 48 hours, (excluding your return journey). You also receive free priority pass membership for both you and your ...

Review of American Express Platinum

Airport Express

Advantages: The service
Disadvantages: The timetable (at times)

of the holiday, but it will buy a few more indulgences in the local market once you get there. Time isn't an issue. Not least because on this occasion I discovered fully just how much of an illusion timetables can be. The 13:40 left Norwich promptly and arrived at Heathrow bang on time at 17:35. Four hours might seem a long time to get from Norwich to Heathrow. By train it would be 2 hours to London Liverpool Street, plus (say) 20 minutes to Paddington, plus 15 minutes on the Heathrow Express to the airport: approximately 3hours allowing for changes. Right! Coming home took me over two hours from clearing customs at Heathrow to get to Liverpool Street. The major benefit of being on the coach is that you do not have to change. Every change introduces an indefinable into the equation. Of course there may be road-works, accidents ...
