Advantages Advantages A little less sick

Disadvantages Disadvantages Stays in, hard to make up, still makes baby sick.

After one too many times of being covered in sick by my baby boy, I had reached the end with Sma Gold. After a chat with my health visitor she recommended sma staydown. After searching the internet to find out where i could get this milk is went and brought some and tried my baby on it straight away. After following the instructions on the tin to make up the milk i gave it to my baby who found it impossible to suck out of the bottle. The milk didnt mix well and was really really thick. I tried again the next day and still my baby was having problems. So i phoned the sma careline. They ... more

    Advantages Advantages Stopped reflux

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not widely available in supermarkets

I have an eight week old baby and we had problems with feeding from about two weeks. Feeding would start ok but then he would pull off the bottle screaming and arching his back. He would always appear keen for more milk but the same thing would happen in a matter of seconds. He would also appear really uncomfortable after a feed and take well over an hour to settle. These and some other symptoms led to a diagnosis of reflux even though he wasn't bringing up a lot of milk it was clear it was coming back sufficiently to cause a lot of pain. (Silent reflux) We tried lots of positioning techniques ... more

Advantages Advantages milk stays down a bit more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages pain to make

I tried SMA stay down after my HV recommended it as my daughter was being sick after every feed and quite a bit, so we have tried it for about a week now and it has worked to some extent, she is only bringing up the milk she has over fed on, which is minimal and then the rest stays down. You are suposed to make the milk up as you need it but i dont know about the rest of you but feeding in the night is a pain and you want it quick and easy not faffing around making bottles, so after experimenting, i make up just two for the night and leave them in the fridge and then heat them in the microwave ... more

Hi.....We gave our son cow and gate to begin with but he was projectile vomiting all the time vast amounts of feed. he was diagnosed with severe acid reflux and we were given gavison to help him keep feeds down. id say 85% of the time he will keep it down but sometimes some will come back up..thats maybe just a little too much to bring up...then i noticed staydown milk sma in tesco and decided i would try it. yes it is thicker i think but not ridiculously so...so far hes kept everything down hardly a trickle...less wind...we were trying to make him sleep through the night, which he would...but ... more
