Advantages Advantages Better tasting than some alternatives

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Contains glucose syrup

Allergies are becoming more and more common by the days and however many things we do to try and avoid them, they don’t always work. This is quite a lengthy review compared to others but I do feel there are a lot of important things that you may find helpful. At 4 months, during the weaning process, I decided to try my son on formula milk to accompany his breakfast cereal. Up until then I had breastfed him completely and didn’t want to stop at all but struggled to express enough for his solids. There are no food allergies in the family and so I didn’t even consider any possible consequences ... more

When my babies where first born they had a mixture of breast milk and formula milk. Jack had SMA gold and Lillie had Nutriprem 2 due to her low birth weight. For the first month there was no problems with the milk they were on, then they started getting really bad runs, noone had any suggestions to why this was, my partner read that sometimes babies had intolerence to milk and you could get soya based milk which could help, at about two and half months we tried the twins on wysoy. We had no problems switching the milk they carried on drinking as normal, after the couple of days we got solid ... more

Advantages Advantages free from gluten, lactose and cows milk protein

Disadvantages Disadvantages doesn't mix properly, expensive

Wysoy is SMA's brand of soya milk for babies who cannot have other formulas for any reason. It is free from lactose, gluten and cow's milk protein and is made from natural soya. It is also suitable from birth but is recommended to only be given to babies on medical advice. My daughter was prescribed wysoy at 5 months old as she had an intolerance to lactose. At first I was very worried as I had heard that soya milk wasn't good for babies. But after being reassured by the doctor I decided to do what was best for my little girl. The first thing that struck me about Wysoy was the pretty colour of ... more

Advantages Advantages dairy free and can be used from birth onwards

Disadvantages Disadvantages quite expensive in comparison to other infant milks

My son had to use Wysoy as had eczema and dairy products were found to trigger it. This product is extremely useful as can be gotten on prescription from the doctor. It is easily usable, you just make it up the same as other milks, and more importantly can be used from birth onwards, as my son was 3months old this was of great comfort. I think because it is made by a well know brand you feel reassured at a difficult time, however it would be nice for an organic version to be made as this would give me greater piece of mind. I think the packaging could be better, it could do with a place to ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages can't see any at the moment

I recently bought some of this to try my 6 month old on as he kept being sick on the Hungry Baby Formula and i have noticed that he has stopped being sick so much, I changed without telling my Doctor as I have been telling him that the baby has been sick since he was born and the Health Visitors are worried has he is not putting on weight enough for them, so heres hoping that him keeping the Formula and being weaned will mean that he will put on weight. The baby also has eczema and it seems to be helping his skin too. I wish this was available with my eldest child as he also has eczema but he ... more

my baby is not thrieving on wysoy, whay else can i add

birth weight was 9 lb, now 13 weeks and weighs 11lb. She developped really bad lactose intolerance after two weeks of birth, with symptoms of diarrhea, severe colicky pain lost losts of weight, dropped to about 8lb and was changed from cow to soya. Although she is not having the above mentioned symptoms anymore, concern is that she gains minimal weight weekly, she tends to feed between 2-3 hours on demand and takes about 3 ozs (25-27 ozs a day)
