Port Ahoy! Cracking Belkin USB Hub

Advantages: great design, vertical ports for regular items such as memory sticks, led display
Disadvantages: maybe a bit expensive but comparrison but it is quality

I bought this hub as an impulse purchase but based my decision on: (a) you can never have enough usb ports (b) belkin are a respected manufacturer (c) I liked the design It cost me £12 when I bought it but I think that was the stores mistake as I have seen it advertised at between £19 and £24. Even at that price though this is a good piece of kit. Bearing in mind you can get USB 2 hubs for about half the piece of this one made by companies you may have never heard of, the design and features on this device make it a very attractive and useful addition to your desktop. It has seven USB ports; five on the back and two placed nattily and very usefully on the top. The top ones are what make this great in my view. They are ideal for things you want to plug in and take out on a regular and irregular basis. I use them for usb ...

3com hubs offer reliability and compatibility

Advantages: Reliable, dual speed compatible, built in management
Disadvantages: Connectors have begun to rust - might cause problems in the future

The Superstack II is a 24 port Fast Ethernet 10/100 Mbit autosensing hub. By this I mean that the hub with autodetect both 10 Mbit and 100 Mbit devices/users that are connected to it concurrently through any of its ports. The hub incorporates a 2-way switch that enables this to be done seamlessly. The hub can easily be stacked with existing SuperStack II PS Hub 40/50s. Features -------- * Easy migration from existing slower 10 Mbit networks to Fast Ethernet (100 Mbit). * Autosensing 10/100 Mbit (per port) allows compatibility with 10 and 100 Mbit connections concurrently. Cable quality is also automatically sensed, to enable the best connection. * Optional SNMP/RMON, web-based management. * Includes a web-based management module which allows management of a complete stack of connected hubs via a browser over the network. * Optional backup ...

Rub a dub HUB

Advantages: Enough connectivity for a small office
Disadvantages: Pricy

lights tell when the hub is in use and when data is being transferred. This is handy if you need to check that the port is active and sending/recieving data. Pricing. It retails at around £150 for one unit. Remember, you need to allow for your cabling costs (which can be quite high) and the prices of your network cards. This can be bought in bundles or pack of 10, 25 or 100 and it is much cheaper to buy them this way. Overall. A great hub but there are cheaper ones out there that do a similar job. ...
