Advantages: Sturdy. Good Quality. Disadvantages: Compatible with SecureConnect hard drives only.
...I recently bought one of these cables to connect my hard drive (also WD – Western Digital) to my motherboard. I had never used SATA before and was only familiar with IDE cables – the annoying thick ones that are a pain to connect. Unlike IDE cables, SATA leads can only be plugged in one way at both ends. This cable holds the power connection stable too.
This cable can only really be used on Western Digital hard drives, but they are a leading manufacture and highly recommended. Both WD Raptor and WD Caviar SE Serial ATA drives use this unique connection, but there are also other SecureConnect compatible hard drives out there. The main reason you would buy this rather than any old SATA cable is because of its SecureConnect design which holds it in place nice and tight.
I have a WD raptor drive, and following the usual hard drive...

Advantages: Amazing security, durability, fuction, price and design. Disadvantages: none
...I have just recently bought this notebook and have to give it a resounding thumbs up. It is definately a cut above in terms of design, function, security and price!
The first thing I noticed when I took at out the box was design. The notebook looks really cool in shape, colour and design. It is also quite light and thin, with a width of 14.1 in, a depth of 10.5 in, a height of 1.3 in and weighing in at 5.5 lbs.
The notebook is also quite durable, it doesn't scratch easily and bumbs have no effect on design or function. It also has a nifty feature called HP 3D drive guard; I'm not entirely sure of the science of how this works but basically it prevents serious bangs from damaging your hard drive.
This notebook has security worthy of NASA. With a range of features designed to keep your data safe such as drive incription...

Advantages: Universal fitting, nice bag for carrying and not to heavy, very strong Disadvantages: None other than the fact that we have to use one!
...I am the IT Support in our open plan office of 80 plus employees, we have several different makes and models of laptop and I was given the task of sourcing a cheap way to secure them all.
I looked at the other mainstream alternative but at around £30 was a bit steep to buy, especially as I needed more than 20 of them.
Then I saw the Belkin, it is very strong, easy to secure and fits all models that come with the Kensington hole. It gives you a lot of flexibility once secured, which I find handy as I often have to turn the laptops over for various work requirements, the padlock is very reassuring and the length of cable makes fitting round a desk leg very easy.
All this for just over £5, fantastic.
So to sum up the Belkin Notebook Security Cable is long, flexible, very strong, easy to fit, highly compatible and very reassuring...
