Manufacturer's product description
SMC's EZ Stack 10 hub is stackable, segmentable and manageable. These features make it the ideal choice for growing 10BASE-T Ethernet networks. This 16-port rack-mountable hub can be used standalone for small workgroups or stacked ten high with up to 100 m of cable to build a single logical hub that is scalable to 160 ports. For further expansion, there's an additional BNC port on the rear panel for connection to a thin coax backbone or other device. And, this port can be replaced by a slide-in module with a fiber port to support increased distances, or an AUI port for added flexibility. To increase network bandwidth and improve traffic load-sharing, the stack can be segmented into up to three collision domains. Individual hubs can also be isolated from the stack. And, to interconnect the segments, the stack can be topped by a switch, such as one of SMC's EZ Switch models. The EZ Stack 10 hub is equipped with a comprehensive array of LEDs to display network and system status. And, for SNMP management, an EZ Stack 10 intelligent hub can be added to the stack. This hub includes an SNMP agent and an RS-232 serial port, so it can provide both in-band and out-of-band management capabilities, as well as fault-tolerant features, including support for up to three redundant links and a backup SNMP agent.
Advantages: Cheap and easy to use Disadvantages: No colour screen
...various short cut icons at the sides.
The On/Off button is on the bottom left hand side at the front, and (6) other control buttons run along the bottom also.
These are used for shortcuts and for scrolling text etc.
The batteries (2 x AAA) are housed in the back at the bottom of the PDA.
It’s best to use rechargeable batteries as normal ones don’t last very long.
I use NiMh (Nickel Metal Hydride), these can last a week or more.
It has got a battery indicator to show when the batteries are getting low.
You must change the batteries within 60 seconds or you will loose the data.
This is more than enough time.
An expansion slot at the back (similar to a Gameboy slot) is used for memory chips or a number of other gadgets; I will talk about that in the “Technical Stuff” section.

The Expansion slot is pretty cool, apart from...

Advantages: REALLY EXPANDS YOUR VIEW. Disadvantages: : 512MB NOT LARGE.
...This is a video memory capacity device that can help you in expanding your view by attaching the video memory device to your electronics. By having this, the memory capacity of your system will expand and not only that, it enhances the colour resolution of your picture.
As a hard core PC gamer, this has helped me a lot in enjoying my PC games in high definition graphics and I think this will have no substitute for a long time in my system.
There are 2 40- pin small outlet j-lead Dram memory in the 1mb video memory upgrade of the video memory to access. The two40- pin modules are plugged into the SOJ socket on the system planar board. This also enables high resolution and offers good security.
All these features make it a very good video memory device and second it is of good value for money.
This also has 1mb EDO video dram 50...

Advantages: Fast processor, Vibrant colour TFT screen displaying over 65,000 colours Disadvantages: Costly, Paint known to occassionally peel off casing
...to get used to
- Speaker quality leaves much to be desired
- Less inbuilt memory (generally 8mb except for m100 and Visor-2mb)
I opted for Palm OS for the stability and software that Pocket PC currently lacks. However, given time, Pocket Pc should be given more consideration.
2) Palm vs Handspring
Palm
PROS
- Sleeker designs
- Ability to upgrade OS versions unlike Handspring
CONS
- Higher price for similar specs
- Colour model only 256 colours (as compared to aforementioned 65,000)
- No expansion slot
- Virtually impossible to increase memory without ripping PDA apart =P
Handspring
PROS
- Expansion slot for use with modules (e.g. memory modules, modem, camera)
- Option to use USB/serial cradles or infrared to synchronise data with PC
- Generally better value for money
CONS
- Chunkier, more dated design
- Only minor updating of OS...

Anyone with a fondness for applying mascara will know that it doesn’t last very long and in any case should be regularly replaced in order to prevent horrible gooey eye infections. While I’m lecturing, may I remind you to stop pumping the wand?! You... more
