Advantages: Quality and reliability of drive Disadvantages: Outdated and discontinued model
...the spare IDE cable and power supply attached into the back.
My computer was using Windows 98, and I am glad to say that the operating system picked up the cd-rom drive as soon as the computer was re-booted.
The drive functioned well and without problems and the read speed has been quite acceptable. It must be said that the unit is now quite out-dated as newer cd-rom drives have a much faster read speed than this one!
In my time of using the drive I have not encountered any reliability problems, and it has read every disk that I have put into it.
Conclusion
This has been a very reliable cd-rom drive and I would recommend it to anyone. Unfortunately the unit is no longer manufactured, but TEAC do offer more up to date cd-rom drives with quicker read speeds, and so I would recommend that you take a look at them if you want a high...

Advantages: Aztech and Delta drives, as an example, are much cheaper than bigger names Disadvantages: If you buy cheaper CD ROM drives expect lower performance
...I have mixed feelings about Aztech CD-ROM Drives – and other cheap makes.
Everything seemed fine until the speed's started to increase to 24x and beyond. I was used to slower drives and wonder quite why anyone would need a CD-ROM to go so fast – but who am I to know?

Eventually I had the unit replaced with a Delta CD ROM. It’s better, but still seems to suffer from its high speed at times.
I would recommend, and it’s only my opinion, that you spend a bit more and purchase a Yamaha, Philips, Teac or any other well...

...I bought this router from Amazon just before Christmas, taking around six weeks to arrive. They said it would take one to two weeks to dispatch, and now I know why...
INITIAL REACTION
On arrival it was evident that the product was meant for another country, as the manual and instructions were in another (European) language. However, the basic manual (and nothing else) was available in English on an included CD. The package also came with an odd beige device that takes RJ-11 cables.
The important thing, however, is how this thing works.
HOW THIS THING WORKS
The SMC7904BRA is a ADSL2+ broadband router and modem in one. ADSL2+ basically means it supports broadband connections faster than 2Mb - normal ADSL routers and modems can't go any faster.
It's a four port router, which means, if you want to share a broadband connection...
