Advantages: Pinnacle of 2D beat 'em ups Disadvantages: Inconsistent graphics
...CapcomVs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium is probably the pinnacle of the entire Street Fighter (and Street Fighter-related) series. There's a massive selection of Street Fighter games out there, so saying this is quite a bold statement. However, I reckon that this game is the one where they really managed to perfect the formula, and the fact that Capcom have thrown in a massive selection of SNK characters too only makes it sweeter. So, so much sweeter.
SNK and Capcom were literally fighting out through most of the nineties, as they were the company behind most of the massive 2D one on one beat 'em ups from that era. With Capcom breaking into the mainstream with Street Fighter II (and later, Darkstalkers) and SNK pleasing the more hardcore elite with Fatal Fury and King of Fighters, they pretty much split the market between them (special...

Advantages: Closure for ardent Capcom and SNK fans. Disadvantages: Rushed production.
...Capcom have finally delivered what the fans have been dreaming about for years. However, is capcomvsSNK what the fans asked for?
I'll start with the good:
In essence the game should be called StreetFightervs. King of Fighters because what we have here is a game with only one character outside the periphery of the two. This is a good thing, for it immediately negates super jumps, chaining, larger than life specials and even larger super specials. Air blocks which previously left characters like Guile and Charlie useless, have also been removed; thus what we are left with is a relatively old school technical fighter.
We find that everyone's favorite capcom characters have made a few advancements to bring them up to par with the King of fighters' characters. Its now possible to do ground rolls, different jump lengths and dashes, which...

Advantages: Retro style, Good for anime lovers, Japanese voices, Nice artwork, Fun Disadvantages: Not many modes
...This is one of my favourite beat em up's on modern consoles. Capcom still keeps its retro 2D characters that most game developers are giving up on. There is a HUGE choice of characters from both Capcom (street fighter etc) and SNK (King of fighters), however most people have never heard of SNK as it rarely left Japan. I find the choice of Capcom and SNL excellent as they are so similar and always trying to compete. Even if you don't know any of the characters, I still think this is a fantastic play. Each character has their own special moves, weight, voice actors, personality and style.
I love how the background is 3D because if it was all 2D it wouldn't suit being on a gamcube/ ps2. I also find the music fun and inspiring. The 2D graphics run smoothly and are unusual to most modern games.
I wish there was more explanation...
